When they finally got out of bed, Anshuman ignored her and just walked out of the room. Parvati got ready for her day. Just as she was about to leave though, Anshuman grabbed her arm and held her against the wall beside the front door.

"Don't go," Anshuman said, sounding sad.

Parvati reached up and touched his cheek lightly.

"I have to go. I can't just miss work," she told him softly.

Anshuman pulled her close to him and hugged her tightly, burying his face in the crook of her neck. Parvati returned his embrace, feeling her heart flutter.

"Come soon then," he told her.

"I'll come very soon," she said with a smile, and broke the embrace.

Then she leaned towards him and pecked him on the lips, before she walked out of the door.

Anshuman smiled to himself and ignored his erratic heartbeats as he went back upstairs to do more job applications.

A week passed, and Prashant came into her office.

"Parvati I've been looking into hiring Anshuman... but he's been blacklisted," Prashant told her.

"Blacklisted?" Parvati gasped.

"Yes... his former boss told all of the firms to not hire him because he's incompetent," Prashant explained.

"He's not incompetent!" Parvati said loudly. "He's amazing! That jerk! Prashant, you can ignore that and hire him right?"

Prashant shook his head.

"I'm sorry Parvati. Our board members are saying no. I can't take the decision on my own," Prashant told her.

Parvati started to fume with anger. She balled her hands into fists and stormed out of the office, deciding to give Anshuman's old boss a piece of her mind.
