After they had dinner, they went back to the sea, where they took off their shoes and walked alongside the sea shore together in silence. The full moon was out, with many bright stars in the night sky, and it was chilly, so Parvati was shivering. She was wearing a spaghetti strap dress after all. Anshuman took off his coat and he wrapped it around her shoulders.

He knew she wouldn't have thought far ahead, so he brought the coat with him.

"I don't need it," she told him.

"I didn't ask you," he said.

The silence resumed and they continued to walk, until finally, Parvati decided that it was now or never.

She stopped walking and turned to face him.

"Do you know why I asked you to come here today?" she asked Anshuman.

"To patch up right?" he asked her.

She felt her heart sting when he told her that it was to patch up. That was far from the reason that she asked him to come.

"To end our friendship... for good," Parvati informed.

Anshuman looked at her, completely surprised.

"What?" he asked, taken aback.

"I think our friendship is destructive," she explained.

Anshuman frowned, like he couldn't believe her.

"I mean... at least destructive for me, and I need to get out of it," she clarified.

"How is our friendship destructive for you?" Anshuman asked, still in a state of disbelief.

"You won't be able to hear it," she told him with a sad smile.

"Tell me," he said sternly. "I hate when people hide things from me. Sandhya hid her disease from me for years, and now I don't know what it is you are hiding from me."

Parvati looked down, and her heart ached, when she finally decided that it was time to tell him what she felt. After all, if things were ending, then at least she could get this weight off her chest.

"I'm hiding a disease too Anshuman," Parvati whispered, her eyes burning with tears, now looking back up at him. "I've been hiding this for years as well. Many years. Before we even became friends."

She took a deep breath and she closed her eyes, gathering the courage to finally tell him what she felt for all these years.

"The truth is that I love you... more than I've ever loved anyone, more than I've loved myself, and I'm scared that the love is destroying me," Parvati confessed, out of breath.

She could hear her heart hammering loudly.

"I need to move on and I need to let go of any hope I have... so I need to let you go. It won't happen if we're friends," Parvati admitted truthfully, and then she opened her eyes.

Her wet eyes met his shocked ones, and she immediately wanted to close her eyes again... but no, this time she couldn't run away. This time she had to face what she was afraid of. She had to face him.
