I was snapped back from my reverie when the vehicles behind me suddenly honked.

Napapitlag ako at kaagad tumuwid sa pagkakaupo. Sa wakas ay umuusad na pala ang mga sasakyan.

I was lost for a minute sa pag-iisip sa nakaraan kaya hindi ko iyon namalayan.

Kaagad kong pinaandar ang sasakyan ko hanggang sa makarating na ako sa isang condominium kung saan naroon ang unit na binili ko seven years ago.

Napakunot noo ako ng makita kong nakasiwang ang pinto ng unit ko. Marahas akong napabuntong hininga ng maisip ang siyang ibang taong nakakapasok lang sa unit ko bukod sa akin.

Magagaan ang yapak ko as I slowly enter my unit and my eyes scanned around the room. Tahimik. Parang wala namang taong pumasok.

Pero nang paliko na ako sa kwarto ko ay nakita kong nasa loob ng kwarto si Arlene.

I silently cursed and my hands suddenly clenched into fists.

Nakahalukipkip siya habang nakatingala at seryosong tinititigan ang malaking wedding picture namin ni Melissa na nakasabit sa dingding.

"Arlene!" agaw ko sa atensyon niya.

Her eyes widen in shocked for a few moment when she saw me.

She stayed quiet for a couple of seconds before she compose herself. She took a few steps towards me. Ako naman ang napaatras.

"What are you doing here?" i asked in a low and irritated voice.

I watched as the pain bream in her eyes because of what I said.

"Why do you even need to ask that? Ofcourse, I came here because of your responsibility to your son! Did you already forget about him?! Ilang linggo ka nang hindi nagpapakita sa kanya!" she yelled as her voice was shaking.

I huffed in annoyance.

Oh yes! I almost forgot!

Bakit pa nga ba ako nagtanong?! I can't avoid her and I need to deal with her forever because there's a connection between us!

Fuck this life.

"You should just have called me and told me what you needed o kung ubos na ang perang ibinigay ko. You can't keep barging in my unit like this everytime you want to!" nakipagsukatan ako ng tingin sa kanya.

Her expression suddenly softened and her eyes become puffy.

"At anong gusto mo?! Tumunganga na lang kami sa bahay at maghintay kung kailan ka magpaparamdam ulit?! Hindi lang naman pera ang kailangan namin ng anak mo! It's you that we needed the most! Lalong lalo na si Kristoff! Our son needs a father! He needs you!" mariing sinabi niya as her voice croaked then her tears starts to flow from her eyes.

My conscience suddenly hits me. Hindi ako nakaimik dahil bigla akong naguilty. I took out a deep breath and let out a long exhale.

"Tanggap ko namang hindi mo ako mahal! Pero sana naman.. wag mong iparamdam sa anak mong hindi siya importante sa'yo. Kahit sa kanya man lang! Magpakaama ka naman!" she said while she's sobbing.

I huffed in guilty. Inaamin kong marami akong pagkukulang sa sarili kong anak.

I imagined Melissa as the mother of my child and not another woman. But shit happens and it turns out this way. Nakabuntis ako ng ibang babae! Even though I knew there was no way I could possibly got her pregnant because I can't even remember a single memory of what had happened between us!
