The days had flew by and before she knew it, the sun had risen on the seventh day and reflected of Marianne's beautiful, pure white gown.
She flickered her eyes open for it to be the first for her to see. And then she shut them again, turning over and wishing this whole thing was over.
"Marianne" Rebekah fumbled in "Marianne wake up"
"Rebekah, what is it?" She snapped, hoping she'd have a few minutes of peace.
"It looks like I'm going to be your replacement maid of honour for today's festivities" she informed her, twiddling her thumbs frantically "and you are not going to like why"
Marianne sat up. "Why is that?" She asked, baring in mind any excuse not to have Aurora by her side she would take. But according to Rebekah's sorry expression; something had been very very wrong.
"Well, I- I um I found Aurora last night, she had stabbed herself in the stomach" she began, stuttering as she went along; leaving Marianne at the edge of her seat, leaning in closer to hear Rebekah's once Loud, now small voice "and so I didn't want her to die, of course, she would completely ruin then wedding, so I..."
"Rebekah" Marianne shut her eyes and took a deep breath in, hoping that the Mikaelson sister wasn't going to where Marianne thought she was "what did you do?" She asked slowly.
"I fed her my blood" Rebekah admitted
Marianne stood from her bed and paced the room, breathing loudly to stop herself from worrying.
"But it was only a few drops; I do not understand how..." Rebekah tried to dig herself out of the mess she had created. She knew she should have just let her die.
Marianne finally threw herself down, her hand covering her mouth to calm herself "tell me, is Aurora..."
"When I left her to bed to sleep, she threw herself from her window" Rebekah broke the news "Nik found her this morning, feeding on a local"
Marianne closed her eyes again and tried to find serenity. "You do realise this has made everything one hundred times more complicated now?" She asks Rebekah.
Rebekah cowered like a scared animal, knowing that she did wrong. But Marianne couldn't stay mad, she needed to remain calm.
"But Niklaus' budding romance with her would compromise everything eventually" Marianne carried on "it is not your fault Rebekah, you were only looking out for your brother"
"I am really sorry, Marianne; I was foolish" Rebekah apologised over and over again
"I do not doubt that you're sorry" Marianne replied "I think it might be best that we keep her as far as possible for now, until I can do what I came to do.
Rebekah nodded her head "Niklaus is with her, he's helping her control her thirst"
"You cannot tell Niklaus anything either, not until I am long gone from this town, do you understand?" She asked "even when I am gone, Aurora cannot know that I killed her brother"
"Of course" Rebekah agreed "my lips are sealed"
"And no talk of me being a witch either" Marianne lectured "if she gets the slightest whiff of me not saying who I am, or my brother being locked downstairs, she will surely tell her brother"
Rebekah nodded her head "understood" she nodded "Marianne, what will happen when you do kill Tristan? And when you rescue Damien? Will we all get to say goodbye?"
"I'm planning on rescuing Damien at the soonest possibility, once Tristan and I are wed, tomorrow when the festivities are dying down, I'll do it" she explains "I'll grab Damien and I'll send a message for you all to meet me somewhere, to say goodbye"
"I'll miss you" Rebekah shrugged, feeling it a good time to tell her good bye now before everything kicked off.
"Im not leaving just yet, Rebekah" Marianne smiled, walking up to her wedding dress that draped over a small changing screen. "I sill have to wear this beauty"
"Then, as your new maid of honour , allow me to help you into it" Rebekah walked over to it and felt the mix of lace and silk. It was completely gorgeous; perfectly matching Marianne.
Rebekah had always wanted a wedding, and had been jealous of every one she saw. Though this wedding had grand chandeliers and beautiful women and lovely finery. The look on Marianne's face made Rebekah feel sorry for her. Not jealous.
"Just one more day, Marianne, it'll all be over" Rebekah said, both unaware of the person walking down the corridor, eavesdropping on their conversation. They had heard everything.
"I've waited three years for this, I think I can wait another day" Marianne laughed to herself as she spoke from behind the screen, taking off her white slip.
"You'll look beautiful" Rebekah assured her "either in the dress or covered in his blood"
"That sounds a bit morbid, doesn't it?" Marianne replied, stepping into the Lacey dress.
Rebekah didn't reply, she turned behind her and watched as someone walked into the room.
She gave him a quick smile as Marianne kept speaking completely unaware of what was going on. And then Rebekah exited, leaving the two alone.
