I'm curious who will catch the similarity to My Fear, My Silence

Let Me know if you do!

Enjoy!

After getting an ear full of Rick bitching about how I used up resources and such, then me bitching at him for giving Andrea a gun we could have used, Night fell. Beth and I sat around the candles, Ava in my lap and Mason in hers. Carol sat next to me with a warm smile on her face. Rick was rocking Judith in his arms and Michi was sitting by the cell thinking. Maggie and Glenn sat on the stairs, while Hershel and Daryl sat in front of us. Merle stood by the cell doors and silence echoed through the walls.

"They hung a sign in our Town,

If you live it up, you won't live it down."

Beth began to sing, and looked at me. I knew it and sang along as I let my fingers comb through Ava's hair.

"So she left Monte Rio, Son.

Just like a bullet leaves a gun,

With Charcoal eyes and Monroe Hips,

She went and took a California Trip.

Well, the moon was gold and her hair like wind,

Said don't look back now

Just come on, Jim.

You got  to hold on

Hold on

You got to hold on

Take my hand,

I'm standing right here.

You got to hold on."

Beth then dropped out and I began to sing by myself.

"Well, he gave her a dime-store watch

And a ring made from a spoon.

Everyone's looking for someone to blame

If you share my bed you share my name....."

Beth then chimed in again and I watch as Daryl spoke to Rick.

"Well, go ahead and call the cops

You don't meet nice girls in coffee shops
She said baby, I still love you
Sometimes there's nothin left to do.

Oh you got to
Hold on, hold on
You got to hold on
Take my hand, I'm standing right here, you got to
Just hold on."

I look at Beth and smile. It nice to bring a bit of music back.

"I ain't hear Mickey Mouse sing like that in years." Merle said. "Its nice ta hear."

"Reminds me of the campfire." I told Merle. "Playin' the guitar while everyone was holdin' somebody."

"Layla loved ya voice." Merle said quietly He sat next to me, and Ava crawled into his lap. "You and Alex used ta do songs together. It was beautiful."

I looked over to Dare, who had a solum look on his face. He missed Alex, I know he does.

"Mikayla?" Ava asked in her sleepy voice.

"Yes sweetheart." I awnsered.

"Can you sing the lullaby?" I looked at her with surprise. I haven't sung that song n years. She was around two last time. Dare sat over by us and took Mason in his lap.

"Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea

And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,

Little Jackie paper loved that rascal puff,

And brought him strings and sealing wax and other fancy stuff. oh

Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea

And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee,

Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea

And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee.

Together they would travel on a boat with billowed sail

Jackie kept a lookout perched on puffs gigantic tail,

Noble kings and princes would bow whene'r they came,

Pirate ships would lower their flag when puff roared out his name. oh!

Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea

And frolicked in the autumn mist in a land called Honah Lee."

"My mama used to sing that." Mason said quietly. "She would sing it to me at night time."

Dare wrapped his arms around her tightly and slowly rocked. Mason snuggled into his chest. I smiled looking at my family. Not just the boys, but the group slowly has made it's way to my heart.

And Now I'm no longer Puff the Magic Dragon.

Cause Jackie Paper stayed.
