Four months later

Angelic

I was fine. Roman and I haven't spoken since we broke up months ago. He hasn't made the effort to talk to me and so have I. If he wasn't willing to work on things, then I wasn't going to wait for the longest until he was. I was single and that was fine with me.

I wasn't going to dwell on it. I still went out with the smile on my face and my guard up.

"Nice to meet you," my dad's girlfriend, Carmen said.

She had a brown, glowing complexion and her hair was in a bob that fit her face. She was pretty.

Her daughter, Bailey looked like her. Even though she had a curly weave. She was nice.

All five of us sat at the table in the restaurant. Calvin was on his phone, scrolling and was barely paying attention to what was going on.

"So, your father told me you worked at a makeup company."

"Yes."

"You work for V. Alaine Co., that big makeup company?? That's most of my collection in my room. I love the products," Bailey gushed.

"It's good that they aren't expensive," Carmen said.

"I love the sand collection where it goes with a lot of complexions, dark, light, medium skin," Bailey replied, "It's hard to find makeup like that because a lot of them focus on one conplexion."

I nodded, "That's true."

"So we gonna talk about makeup? Something my dad and I know nothing about?" Cal said, looking up from his phone.

"I'm sorry," Carmen chuckled, "How are you, Calvin?"

"I'm great now since someone acknowledged me."

"Get out your feelings," I said.

The rest of the dinner went well. Carmen and Bailey were cool, I saw how happy she made my dad.

I hope they would last.

The next night, I was getting ready to go out with Candi.

"Ang! You ready to go??" Candi called from the living room.

"Almost!" I was putting the finishing touches on my makeup.

I had on high waisted skinny jeans, colorful top, and nude wedges.

Once I was finished, I grabbed my things and met her in the living room.

"We're gonna be lit," she said as we locked the door behind us. We hopped in the car and drove off.

She was taking me to the club. I wasn't much of a party goer. I rather sit home and chill.

We pulled into a parking space and went into the club. We didn't have to wait in line since Candi knew the people there.

She pulled me onto the dance floor, "Come on, get loose."

With the music bumping, people were grinding, sweating, and drinking. They were singing along to the music while swaying back and forth. Even though some of them had drinks in their hands, they made sure not to spill it while dancing.

Candi linked her fingers through mine and twirled slowly around me, "It looks like someone wants to talk to you."

I turned around, it was some guy I didn't know, "Do you want to dance?"
