A/N: This chapter is dedicated to _MusicBabe_ for helping me through my writers block. Thank you :)

A week later, I came home from a long day at work only to come home to a messy house. Cigarette butts were on the floor, clothes and shoes were on the couch and stair railing, and dishes were piled up in the sink.

I was grossed out. I went upstairs to see if Calvin was there, he wasn't. He would leave the house and not come back for a while of course he learned that from our mom.

As I was about to go downstairs, my mom walked out of her room with shorts and a tank top. Her hair was a mess and she had a cigarette in her hand.

"You not gonna say hi?"

"The hell I gotta say hi for when the house is a mess?" I answered.

"Ain't I tell you to watch yo damn mouth??"

"Or what? You gonna beat my ass? Or right, I whooped yours last week," I said as I headed down the stairs, she followed after me quickly.

"Girl, I'm bout close to burning yo ass with this cigarette since you wanna keep getting smart with me," she warned.

"I walked away from you, meaning I was done with you . You're dismissed," I waved her off.

"Wait!" she shouted.

"What?"

"I'm going out tonight and I need some money."

"What the hell happened to the money Darrin gave you last week? Did you even pay rent???"

"Don't worry about it. You gonna give it to me or not??"she said with irritation clear in her voice.

"No, the same way you got the money, is the same way you get it again," I went into the kitchen. I washed the dishes.

She came up beside me, "Whatever with yo stuck up ass. You think you better than me because you have a job? Bitch, I made you, remember that," she closed the fridge door shut, she had a bottle of beer in her hand. She walked back into the living room.

I rolled my eyes as I finished washing the rest of the plates. I went into the cabinet and got a bag of chips then went upstairs.

Instead of smoking, I decided to eat because my mom had the nose of a dog. It was like she could smell weed from miles away and she would smoke it too.

I got up and went outside for a walk. I put on my gray hoodie and black tights then headed out the door. I stuffed my hands in my pockets as the cold wind whipped at my face.

I glanced up to see Calvin with a group of his friends, their hands in their pockets. They were passing something around. Instead of saying anything, I walked by them like I didn't see them.

I kept my head down so they wouldn't see me. I heard their conversation, "Man, this shit could get us paid."

"You sure? It don't look like much," Calvin said, examining the small bag of weed.

"We start off small then we do the serious shit," Mike explained.

I hoped he didn't take it.

"When do we start?"

"Tomorrow."

"Aight, cool cool," Calvin said as he dapped him.

This boy here. The only reason why I didn't unveil myself because I wanted to watch him from a distance to see what he'll do. Clearly, he was about to do wrong.

Since he didn't listen to what I told him, I guess he was gonna have to learn the hard way. Not everyone gets a second chance, especially the people in this neighborhood . When some people get away without a pentalty, they think they slick enough to do it again and not get caught. A consequence comes with every choice you make .
