Chapter 17 - Kid in love

Lily's P.O.V.

I felt the sun touch my skin, feeling the heat on where the sun beams. Opening my eyes, slightly adjusting to the light.

I got out of bed then walked in the bathroom to brush my teeth and wash my face. I put my hair in a messy bun then walked downstairs.

I checked the time on my phone. 12:50 pm.

I guess I overslept since me and the boys watched some movies last night until 2am.

I saw the boys already having lunch so I decided to join them.

"Hey," I greeted.

I recieved some hi and hello's then sat beside Carter.

I noticed Shawn was missing.

"Where's Shawn?" I asked.

"In his room." Cameron said.

I shrugged, sipping some milk in my glass.

Shawn's P.O.V.

I lightly placed my fingers on the strings of my guitar, strumming some chords of the first song that comes in my head.

"Maybe I'm just a kid in love," I sang softly, strumming the chords.

Somehow, music makes me calm and relaxed. Just by playing my guitar, humming some random song that pops in my head, I feel right.

"Maybe I'm just a kid in love, oh baby. If this is what it's like falling in love then I don't ever wanna grow up."

Just by thinking about Lily being in the arms of another guy, makes me want to collapse.

I shook my head.

I'm overthinking again.

But I think Cameron and Taylor are right.

Maybe I should make a move before anyone else does.

Before it's too late.

Lily's P.O.V.

I walked out of the shower, a towel wrapped out my naked body.

I opened my closet, looking for something suitable to wear.

I grabbed my white skinny jeans, and sky-blue loose shirt with my vans.

I changed into my outfit then brushed my long brown hair, letting it loose.

I walked downstairs to the living room.

My phone buzzed in my pocket. It was Logan.

On my way! See you ;)

I felt a sudden cringe, just by seeing the winky face in the message.

I typed a quick 'okay' then slid my phone in my pocket.

I saw all of the boys, except Shawn, seated on the couch in the living room.

They all stared at me.

"Why are you guys all sitting there like you're all waiting for a meeting?" I laughed.

"We're waiting for your date." Nash said.

"He's not my 'date'." I said. "He's just a friend."

Soon, I heard footsteps on the staircase, I turned around then smiled.

"Shawn!" I called out.

He smiled then walked up to me.

"You look beautiful, Lily." Shawn said.

"Why, thank you." I said giggling.

"Lily can I tell you som-" he was cut off by the doorbell ringing.

I opened the front door and there stood Logan.

"Hi Logan! Come in," I greeted letting him step inside.

"Hey Lily! You look beautiful." He said.

I heard the boys clearing their throats, calling our attention.

"Oh by the way. Logan, meet my friends." I said introducing them one by one to Logan.

"Nice to meet you all. I'm Logan." He said. "I live just a few blocks away from here."

I looked at Shawn who was standing there awkwardly.

"Logan, this is Shawn. He's my best friend." I smiled.

Logan offered his hand to Shawn. Shawn took his hand rather aggressively.

"Shawn are you okay?" I asked.

"Yeah I'm fine. I'm just not feeling well." Shawn said letting go of Logan's hand.

"What? Well, do you need anything? I'll bring you some medicine if you wa-"

"No. You should go. Don't worry about me." He said, "I just need to rest."

He then walked fast upstairs then slammed the door shut.

"What's up with him?" Logan asked.

"I don't know..." I said.

"Don't mind him, Lils. He's just tired I guess." Cameron said.

"Well, please make sure he's okay." I said.

"Shall we go?" Logan asked, I nodded.

"Hey, make sure to take good care of Lily. We don't want her getting hurt." Taylor said.

"Of course." Logan said.

"And make sure to be home immediately." Carter said.

Logan nodded then we headed to the door.

We got to his car, I waited for him to open the door for me but he didn't.

It's not like I wanted him to, but I feel like that should be what a gentleman should be doing right?

He went straight to the driver's seat, not even bothering to open the passenger's seat for me.

I awkwardly opened the door then got in.

I still can't get my mind off of Shawn. He was acting so weird lately.

And I don't even know the reason why.
