Chapter 48 - Accident

Shawn's P.O.V.

"Lily, wait!" I said as I ran to her outside the hotel. She just fastened her pace, but I managed to grab her hand in mine.

"What Shawn!" She snapped. I looked in her puffy eyes and tear-stained cheeks. I felt horrible.

"Lily, let me explain-"

"You don't need to say anything! I know what I saw!" She said. Tears began to drip off her face.

"Lily, what you saw was completely wrong and opposite, okay? Believe me it was an accident, I swear I-"

"Oh sure it was an accident! What, you slipped and landed on her? Or you thought it was me kissing you? Or you must've done all of that on purpose." She said.

"Lily she was drunk! She didn't know what she was doing. I was taken a back by her actions when you saw it. I love you, Lily. Only you." I said.

She just continued to cry, as she shook her head disappointingly, "I don't know what to believe anymore. All my life, I've been suffering pain. And seeing you with another girl causes me so much pain."

"Lily please, believe me. It was never meant to happen." I said trying to cup her face in my hands.

She took a step back, shaking her head once again.

"You should've told me you still loved her." She whispered.

She then ran away, passing through an empty street.

"Lily!" I said as I tried to chase her, following her direction.

She continued to run through the street, but just by a quick moment, a loud horn of a car startled me, making me look at her direction.

"LILY!" I yelled but it was too late.

The next thing I knew, her body was lying in the middle of the street. I ran to her as fast I can, sobbing in pain.

"Lily? Lily, babe wake up. Please.. Wake up!" I sobbed as I gently caressed her fragile body on mine. A crowd of people surrounded us.

Her eyes were closed shut, but she was still breathing. Her head was bleeding and I didn't know what to do.

"Someone please help us! Please! Call an ambulance!" I shouted as loud as I can.

In the next few minutes, the ambulance took us both in, driving quickly to the nearest hospital.

I couldn't breathe properly. My mind couldn't function well. I was sobbing so hard, I felt like I was gonna run out of tears.

I can't afford to lose her. This is all my fault. I'm so stupid! How could I let this happen to the girl I love.

All I was thinking was for Lily to be okay. I don't fucking care if she won't forgive me ever again. All I wanted was for her to be safe again.

All I wanted was to see her beautiful smile when she looks up to meet my eyes again.

If anything ever happens to Lily, I don't know if I'll ever forgive myself again.
