Chapter 44 - Ex-girlfriend

Lily's P.O.V.

After the minute I got up from bed, I immediately did my routine then went downstairs. I was the last to get up out of bed, again.

They were all having breakfast in the kitchen, so I decided to join them.

Minutes later, the familiar sound of the doorbell caught our attention.

"I'll get it," Carter said, who was done eating, stood up from his seat then headed towards the door.

Once I heard the door open, we only heard Carter's and a female's voice in the suite.

We waited for them to come inside, as we heard the foot steps getting closer.

Finally, two figures appeared in the kitchen, but I only stared at the girl.

"Lauren?" Shawn said.

Who's Lauren? Maybe she's a friend of Shawn?

"What are you doing here?" Shawn asks, standing up from his seat.

"For you, silly." Lauren smiled, stepping closer.

I gripped the edge of the table.

"Happy birthday," Lauren said, handing a gift bag to Shawn.

"Thank you. You shouldn't have," Shawn said, accepting the bag.

"I wanted to. Plus, I missed you." Lauren smiled.

My breath hitched. Of course, say that in front of me.

Shawn just awkwardly laughs, making the room a bit quiet.

"As a friend, of course." Lauren laughs.

"Umm," Shawn said, clearing his throat.

"By the way, meet Lily. My girlfriend." He said, placing his hand on my shoulder.

I stood up, his hand slowly crawling on my waist.

"Your girlfriend?" Lauren sarcastically asks.

"Yeah. His girlfriend," I said.

"Well, nice to meet you. I'm Lauren," she said offering her hand in front of me.

I hesitated a bit but shook her hand anyways.

"His ex-girlfriend." She said.

Ex-girlfriend? I looked at Shawn, giving him a slight glare. He never told me about Lauren.

"Really?" I asked, marking my sarcasm.

She smirked, "Shawn never told you?"

"Unfortunately, no." I said, getting a bit annoyed.

"Aw, too bad." She said. I gripped the edge of the table harder.

Shawn placed his hand on mine, trying to calm me.

"So, you guys wouldn't mind if I stay here for while? I just got here last night." Lauren said.

I looked at Shawn, who was I think, having second thoughts.

"Umm," Shawn said, looking at the boys, then at me, before looking at Lauren again.

"Please? I've got nowhere to stay at the moment," Lauren pleaded, giving him puppy dog eyes.

He better not say yes.

"Okay," Shawn sighed.

Unbelievable.

"Yay! Thanks Shawn!" Lauren said, then suddenly kissed Shawn on his cheek. What the actual fuck?

That's it. I've had enough.

I stood up from my seat, then walked out of the kitchen, without even looking at anyone. I then went inside our room, slamming the door shut.

Shawn's P.O.V.

I watched Lily walk out of the kitchen, as we heard a door slam shut. I sighed.

"What is your deal here, Lauren?" I asked, calmly.

"I just wanted to see you guys. And I heard that you have a new girlfriend so I thought about meeting her." Lauren said.

"Meeting her? For what?" Taylor butts in.

"Oh you know, just being friendly." Lauren said.

"Right..." Matt said.

"I'll follow Lily for a moment." I said then walked straight to our room that we shared.

I knocked on the door lightly, but all I heard was silence. I turned the doorknob, letting myself in, closing it afterwards.

Lily was sitting on the edge of the bed, her back facing the door.

I walked up to her, sitting behind her, as I placed both of my hands on her waist, leaning my head on her shoulder.

She suddenly shook me away from her, scooting a little away from me. I frowned.

"Are you mad?" I asked.

"Nooo, Shawn! I am so happy to see your ex, flirting with you in front of my face! I am so happy that you never told me about her! Everything is so perfect!" She sarcastically said.

"I'm sorry. I didn't know she was gonna come here. And... I'm sorry that I never told you. It's just that, I've forgotten everything we had in the past so, I never bothered on telling you." I said.

She didn't answer. All she did was sigh, a sigh that I knew was filled with disappointment.

"Are you jealous?" I asked.

She suddenly turns to face me, glaring at me deeply. I gulped.

"What if a guy flirted with me in front of you? What if a guy kissed me on the cheek in front of your face? Wouldn't you be mad?" She said.

She's right, though. If that was me, I would've punched that guy.

I looked down at my fingers, "I'm sorry babe. It's my fault. Please don't be mad at me. I love you. You know that I love you, right? There's no other woman in my life besides you, mom and Aaliyah. I would never cheat or replace you. I promise."

I grabbed her hand in mine, rubbing it gently with my thumb.

She sighed, "fine. I forgive you."

I smiled, pulling her closer to me, as I kissed her forehead.
