Lily's P.O.V.

He walked out of the house then slammed the door.

I walked to the door opening it.

"Where are you going?" Carter asked.

"I'm gonna follow him." I said as I got out of the house.

"Lily!" Taylor called out but I ignored him then walked outside, to the sidewalks.

I realized that it was raining hard, as I was walking.

"Shit." I cursed. It's so cold!

I continued walking, looking for Shawn.

I saw him walking to the park from a far.

"Shawn!" I called out. He turns around, but walks faster.

I walked faster, then eventually caught up with him.

I grabbed his arm, forcing him to look at me. By now, we were both soaking wet.

"What?!" He snapped. "Just go away!"

"What the hell is your problem?!" I said.

"YOU are my problem!" He said.

"Me? What did I do wrong?"

"You wouldn't even understand." He quietly said.

"What is this to you? A game? Something you would just skip and reset? Look, I am through with all of your bullshit Shawn. For the past few days, you did nothing but avoid me. Ignoring my existence. I don't even know what I did to deserve that from my best friend! So now tell me. What is going on with you?!" I said, my voice getting louder by every word.

"You wanna know why I'm acting like this?"

"Yes I would clearly like to, Shawn!" I yelled.

"BECAUSE I LOVE YOU!" He said.

I felt my heart beat ten times faster. I was speechless.

"There I said it!" He said. "I'm in love with you, Lily. From the very start of our friendship, I've laid eyes on you. I was just scared to ruin our friendship so I never told you. Because I know you would never feel the same way towards me! You wanna know why I hate that Logan guy so much? It's because I'm jealous! I keep on avoiding the thought that I might be jealous but now I know. I don't want to see you with other guys. Because I love you! That's the only reason Lily!"

I stared at his eyes, as the rain continues pouring.

"You're wrong." I said.

"What?" He asked.

"You think I wasn't jealous of Camila?" I said, "when I saw you hug her, I just wanted to rip my heart off my chest. I never liked Logan! Not even a single bit! He was far from you, Shawn. And I don't know why, but you were the only guy that was in my head when I'm with Logan." I paused.

He came closer, until there were only inches away from our bodies. He stared at my eyes as I did the same.

"Because I'm in love with you too, Shawn." I finished.

I looked at him, waiting for his answer, but he never spoke.

Instead, he leaned in, and placed his lips on mine.

We stayed there, and everything felt right. Who would have thought? A kiss in the rain.

I felt the butterflies flying freely in my stomach, my heart racing in my chest. I was beyond happy.

In that very moment, It felt safe. I fell harder for him. They say that, everything that falls, breaks.

But when I fell for him, I was complete. I was never broken. In fact, I felt loved and wanted. I felt as if I belonged to someone. And that someone is Shawn.

He broke the kiss, placing his forehead on mine, our eyes still closed. His hands placed on both my arms.

"I should've asked this a long time ago, and I waited this long to finally ask you," He paused.

I smiled, staring at him.

"Lily Watson," he smiles. "Will you finally be my girlfriend?"

I laughed at his cuteness. Who would ever say no to this muffin?

"Yes, Shawn. I am honored to be finally yours."

He smiles widely, then crushed me in a hug, spinning me around.

"I love you, Lily." He said.

I looked at him, then smiled.

"I love you more, Mendes."
