Chapter 51 - I guess it's over

Lily's P.O.V.

"I think we should break up," I said, trying to stare at him without collapsing in a pool of tears.

I love him. I love him with all my heart. But I think this will be the best for the both of us. We need space to think things through.

If he might be confused at the moment, if he still loves Lauren, I'll give him time to think. Think things through.

"N-no, please Lily, don't do this. Baby, please, please!" Shawn said almost breaking down in tears.

God, it hurts to see him like this. I looked away, holding in the pain.

"Shawn.. I need space." I said, biting my lip, controling the tears in my eyes.

"Lily, don't. Please. I'm begging you. I love you so much. Please-"

"Just leave me alone." I sternly said.

"I don't want to break up with you! I love you, nothing else matters but you, please believe me." He cried.

"Please Shawn. Just leave. Let me be." I said, my voice getting shaky.

"Is this what you really want? Don't you love me anymore?" He asked.

I stayed silent, until he took a deep breath.

"I get it. You wanted this. I'll give it to you," he paused before speaking again, "I guess it's over"

And by that moment, he left me alone in the room. Once the door was shut, I couldn't help but burst into cold tears.

I sobbed in despair. I love him. Call me stupid all you want but this is what's best for him. For the both of us.

"I'm sorry," I whispered between sobs.

Shawn's P.O.V.

I closed the door to her room, as I gripped the knob hard, making my knuckles whiten.

I don't understand.

Doesn't she love me no more? She didn't even believe me. She was hurt. But I never wanted any of this.

"Shawn!" Taylor said as the boys and he came running towards me.

"Dude, you look horrible." Matt said.

"What happened in there?" Carter asked.

I looked at the ground, letting the tears fall on it.

"It's over." I whispered.

"What?" Cameron asked.

"She.." I paused, as I cried, "she broke up with me."

"Shawn," Aaron said, but they were all speechless.

And that's when I felt Cameron's embrace on me.

I let him be, as I cried on his shoulder.

"It's okay, man. Just let it out." He said.

"I never thought you two would break up," Taylor said with an upset reaction.

Nash walked up to me as he patted my back.

"Maybe she just needs a little time to think, bro. She'll be alright soon." Nash said, trying so hard to comfort me.

"She doesn't love me anymore," I cried.

"Nonsense! Of course she loves you man. Nash's right. Maybe she just needs some space and time to think." Taylor said.

"Yeah, after what Lauren did. She's still confused at the moment." Carter said.

I just simply nodded.

"Here, um, why don't we just grab something to eat? We haven't ate for hours." Aaron said.

"I'll come." Carter said.

"Me too," Taylor said.

"Go buy us some food on the way, we'll just stay here incase Lily needs us." Cameron said.

"Okay," I whispered. We all went through the hallways leaving Nash, Matt and Cameron in front of Lily's room.

Lily's P.O.V.

I stared at the window at my right, staring at the busy street of Toronto while I let my tears run down my pale cheeks.

I had to do it.

I'm so tired of getting hurt. I admit, when I met Shawn, everything was so different. Every pain and every moment of the past that I never want to remember, all of those faded away on the day I fell in love with him.

But once I saw him with his ex, my heart was shattered into a million pieces. I was hurt to see them together.

I wanted space. I wanted time to think.

And I also wanted to give him time and space, to think himself. Whether he was confused or not.

I was awaken from my thoughts once I heard a knock on the door.

"Go away, Shawn." I ordered.

"Lily?" I heard Cameron's voice say.

"Cam?" I whispered.

"Can we come in, Lils?" I heard Nash's voice say.

"Who's with you?" I asked.

"It's just me, Nash and Matt." Cam said.

I sighed, "come in."

Seconds later, the door opened gently, letting three boys inside.

They came beside my bed as I forced a slight smile.

"How's our bestest friend feeling?" Cameron smiled.

"Well, I'm still alive," I silently said as I let out a slight chuckle.

"You've been crying," Matt said as he stares at my red puffy eyes.

"Yeah," I sniffed.

"Wanna talk about it?" Nash gently asks.

I stared at my hands. Instead of responding, I ended up sobbing again.

"Shh, it's okay, Lils." Cam says as he sat beside me, pulling me in for a warm hug.

Nash and Matt sat beside us, placing their hands on me, rubbing my back smoothly.

"I don't understand.." I sobbed on his shoulder, "I'm so confused, Cameron. After everything, I-I just can't."

"I'm sure Shawn never wanted that to happen, Lily. He loves you so much and you know that." Matt said.

"What did you say to him?" Nash asked.

"I b-broke up with him," I said, my voice cracking.

"What?!" They simultaneously said.

"Why did you do that?" Matt asked.

"I just wanted space, and time to think. That's all I need and want." I sighed.

"Okay, we can't interfere with your decision. But please reconsider his explanation." Cam said.

"I don't want to talk to him in the meantime. I'll think about it," I said, "but please tell him to give me space. I really need it right now."

They exchange looks before they all nodded.

"We will," Nash said.
