Chapter 49 - Just because

Shawn's P.O.V.

I paced back and forth in the hallways as I glanced one more time at the door.

Tears still running down my cheeks as I breathed ever so lowly.

I feel like I'm a horrible person.

"This is all my fault," I whispered to myself, biting my lip.

I then suddenly felt my pockets vibrating, letting my hand reach for my phone inside.

I answered it, putting the device on my ear without even looking at the caller I.D.

"H-Hello?" I said, trying to speak properly since I've been crying for like hours.

"Shawn? Man, where are you? Where's Lily? Are you two together? Why is Lauren sleeping on the kitchen table?" I heard Cameron's voice say throught the other line.

And again, I began sobbing. Remembering what happened.

"Bro, are you okay? I hear you crying.'' He said.

I took a deep breath, before finally managing to speak.

"I'm h-here at the hospital. Lily g-got in a-an accident and I-" I paused between sobs.

"What?! Okay text me what hospital are you in and me and the boys are on our way." Cameron said before hanging up.

I quickly texted the hospital then waited for them to arrive.

15 minutes later, they arrived a bit panicked.

"Shawn!" Taylor said walking up to me.

"Man, what happened?" Matt asked.

And that's where I broke down, crying. They just looked at me in confusion and worry.

"I-I'm s-sorry. It was all my fault. I'm s-such an idiot, I'm sorry.." I cried.

"Dude just calm down and tell us what happened." Cameron said.

"I saw Lauren in the kitchen, drunk. And she started talking about stuff that I don't know, and then she told me that she still loved me. She kissed me, but I never expected that to happen, I swear! That's when Lily saw and she started to run away. I chased her outside the hotel, then we started arguing. Then s-she.." I said, talking a deep breath.

"She was hit by a car when she ran through an empty street. And I was dumb enough to let her. This is all my fault! If I didn't let Lauren kiss me in the first place, this would've never happened." I cried.

"Okay, man. Calm down. This isn't your fault. No one ever wanted this to happen, okay? Don't blame yourself for all of this." Nash said.

"I'm sure Lily would be fine. She's a strong woman. She can get through this, I know it." Aaron added.

"I-I just don't know what to do. I just hope she's okay. I swear I will never forgive myself if anything bad happened to her." I said, tears escaping my eye.

Soon, a doctor walked in our direction.

"Excuse me, are you relatives of ms. Watson?" He asked.

"We're her best friends." Matt said.

"I'm her boyfriend," I said. "Is she okay?"

"You're lucky that she's fine. But unfortunately, you can't see her yet. She needs to be tested first to see if there's any broken bones or any fractures. But yeah, she'll be alright." The doctor said.

We all let out a sigh of relief. But that one thing that keeps bugging my mind is that, she's still mad at me.

And she would'nt be in a situation like this if it wasn't because of me.

I caused all of this. Just because Lauren kissed me. Just because that happened.

I'm so stupid!

"Shawn, you look so tired. What if we go home for a bit and rest. You'll see her tomorrow morning." Taylor said.

I sighed, then nodded.

I sure hope she'll be okay.
