Chapter 55 - Dress shopping

Lily's P.O.V.

"Where are you guys going?" Cameron asked when we got downstairs.

"To the mall," Kaylee said.

"Why?" Nash asked.

"Prom's coming up so, we're going shopping," Connor said.

"Dress shopping, aye?" Taylor said.

"Yep." Kaylee said.

"We won't be long," I said.

"Don't stay out till night," I heard Shawn murmur.

I saw them all smirk and smile, making me and Shawn shift in awkwardness.

"We won't!" Connor said smiling widely.

"Byeeee!" Kaylee said dragging me and Connor out.

"Stay safe!" Matt said before we headed out to Connor's car.

Throughout the whole trip, I couldn't resist the thought of Shawn.

I miss him so much.

But then I remembered what I heard earlier.

He's taking Camila as his date to the prom. Great, perfect.

Maybe he's moved on already. I feel so stupid.

"Earth to Lily? Are you there?" Kaylee said snapping her fingers in front of my face.

"Huh, what?"

"Something's bugging your mind. Care to share?" Connor smirked.

"Oh, um. Nothing." I said.

"Oh, we forget to tell you. Shawn's our guest to the prom! He's gonna perform and make all the girls drool over him," Connor bragged.

"Oh, really?"

"Yeah, and my God, if only you knew how every girl in our campus drool over your boyfriend-" Kaylee said pausing.

I looked at her.

"Ex boyfriend rather," Kaylee said.

"Well, that's great actually. He's probably gonna do great that night," I smiled.

"And for the record, he's bringing Camila with him! I think they're both gonna perform a song," Connor said giving Kaylee a smirk.

"Oh. That's cool." I said, soon looking over the window.

I sighed.

"Omg this will look amazing on you!"

"Uh, there's no way she's wearing that! It's too revealing! And besides, the dress code is supposed to be formal. That's more of a party dress to me."

"Oh so you mean a long gown perhaps?"

"Yes!"

I look at both of my friends as they argue on what I should wear tomorrow night.

This isn't my thing anyway, so I just let them decided and maybe watch them fight for their choices and fashion belief.

"How about this one?" Kaylee suggested. This time, Connor protested on her choice.

"Uh-uh. No freaking way. She's going to a prom night, not a bible seminar."

I laughed.

"Then what do you suggest, smart pants?" Kaylee said.

"She needs to wear something that really suites her beauty," Connor said with a thinking face on.

"Something that wouldn't show her entire soul!" Kaylee said.

"Something that can top off even the miss universe candidates."

"Something that can make you the star of the night,"

Just then, something really caught my eye and attention.

"Something like that?" I asked, pointing towards the gown that was near the next aisle in the shop.

"Oh my God," Kaylee gasped.

"Yaaaas! Very much something like that! Perfect!" Connor said.

I smiled as they picked it up.

"Try it ooon!" Kaylee said excitedly.

I smiled as I picked up the gown, going inside one of the fitting rooms.

Fifteen minutes later...

"Dude you've been there for like hours," Kaylee whined.

"You're taking forever! What's the hold up?" Connor said.

"I think I look stupid," I said.

"Oh nonsense! I'm sure you'll look fabulous! Now come out or I'll yank you out!" Connor said.

I sighed before slowly opening the stall door.

I looked at them as they stared at me with wide eyes, mouths wide open.

"I told you guys I look stup-"

"OMG, YOU LOOK LIKE A PRINCESS!" Kaylee squealed.

"You are stunning, honey. I think I'm gonna cry," Connor said wiping his fake tears.

"Are you serious?" I laughed.

"Girl when we say you're beautiful, we meant that you're gorgeous as freak so man up and say thank you," Kaylee said.

"Thanks?" I smiled as we laughed.

"Now let's pay for this baby," Connor said as I hurried to change into my original clothes.

We walked up the cashier and Connor insisted he'd pay for the gown.

"I love this gown so much on you so I think it is my fairy godmother duties to pay," Connor said smirking.

"You didn't have to, Connor. But thank you," I smiled.

The cashier handed the bag to me with a 'thank you'. I smiled as we walked outside the shop.

Will he like me wearing this?

Would he even dare to stare at me?

Or he'll just walk past me and approach Camila instead?

"Still bugged about the break up?" Kaylee said.

"H-huh?"

"Don't deny," Connor smiled. "We know you miss him."

I sighed, "he's moved on already."

"Don't think that way. Maybe he still has feelings for you. If I were him, it would be difficult for me to move on that fast." Connor said.

"And besides, once he sees you on our prom night, he'll go drop dead staring at you from head to toes." Kaylee winked.

I smiled.

"Now let's grab some donuts. I'm craving those since last night!" Connor said.

I laughed as we headed to a donut shop near us.
