Chapter 76 - I will never leave you

Cameron's POV

I sighed as I walked back and forth in front of the operating room. It's been four hours since we've arrived here. I really hope Shawn's okay.

"Would you sit down? I'm already getting dizzy watching you," Nash said.

"I'm sorry I can't help it." I said then sat beside them.

"Don't worry. Nothing's gonna happen. Shawn is okay, I just know it." Aaron said softly said.

I pulled my phone out of my front pocket, dialing Kaylee's number. I wanna check on them.

"Hello?"

"Hey, is everything okay? How's Lily?" I asked.

"She's fine. We're in another room, a doctor has already checked up on her, and treated her cuts and bruises. She won't stop crying. I feel so bad seeing her like this." She softly said.

I heard Lily crying in the background, I can feel her pain so much.

"Here, I'll give the phone to her. Talk to her," Kaylee said before I heard shuffling sounds.

"Cam?" I heard Lily's voice say. God, she sounded so tired and drained off.

"Lils-"

"How is Shawn? Did a doctor come out already? Is he okay? Please tell me...." She said then slowly sobbed again.

"We haven't seen any doctors come out of the OR. But I'll tell you once there is. Calm down okay? Just rest, Lils." I said.

"I can't... I wanna go there. I want to see him so badly... This is all my fault. That bullet was supposed to be mine! It should be me in that damn room.... He took the bullet for me..... He shouldn't have done that..... I'm the one responsible for all of this, I'm so sorry....." She said in between sobs.

"Lily, stop. Don't ever talk about yourself like that! It's no one's fault okay? No one ever wanted this to happen except for those lunatics who kidnapped you. It's not your fault. Shawn did that because he didn't want you to get hurt. He did that because he loves you." I said.

She just continued crying, unable to say anything.

I sighed, "Lils, we need you to be strong for him. We need to be strong for Shawn. Can you do that?"

"Y-yes..." She cried.

"When the operation is done and Shawn is already transferred to a private room, me and Nash will get you, okay? Don't worry."

"Okay... Thank you, Cam..." She softly said.

"We love you, Lils."

"I love you too...." She said then hung up.

One hour later....

As we heard the OR's door open, we quickly stood up, and faced the doctor.

"Are you all Mr. Mendes's friends?"

"Yes. How is he?" Nash said.

He gave all of us a look, my body already tensed up.

Oh, God. Please let this be good.

"Your friend is okay. We've done the operation successfully, and the patient is already stable." He smiled.

We all breathed out, relieved of the good news.

"Thank God he's okay!" Aaron said.

"Yes. But he will need some rest. We will transfer him to his private room. The serum that we have injected is still in his body, so he's still unconscious, and he probably will be till later. You can see him when we transfer him out."
