I curled my hair perfectly getting ready to meet Leslie at our spot. We haven't seen each other in a few days and her dad finally lifted her grounding.
"Bye loser" holland said at my door
"Oh your going to Kim's now?" I asked
"yeah want to change your mind and join us?" He asked me as I shook my head
"I might stop by later, maybe even bring Leslie" I said seeing his face fall and then he nodded faking a smile
"Hey could you do something? Can you ask if Kat and Kim are comfortable with me still seeing Leslie?" I asked
"Yeah but why don't you?"
"Because I don't want them to say they are fine with it just to make me happy. I want to make sure they are"
"Okay, I will bye Nat"he said
"Bye" I said touching up my curls and my eyeliner. When I was ready. I made these plans with Leslie a while ago so I can't go to Kim's house tonight but it sounded fun just the five of us having a sleepover. I'm not sure if I made a mistake picking Leslie over them.
I grabbed my purse and went out the back door to the lane at the back of the house and began the walk to the pond were Leslie and I sneak to all the time.
I hope tonight is like the football game when she showed up with a flower for me and told me even if she can't see me everyday she wants to try to make us work.
We sat on the bleachers for a while just talking and it felt like we were the only two people in the world.
"Boo!" She yelled behind me scaring me half to death.
"Don't do that!" I laughed before we hugged and she kissed my cheek
"What's that?" I asked seeing a book in her hand
"A bible, daddy thinks I'm going to bible study"
"Your a bad girl" I said
"I guess it's my bad influence" she winked before we linked our finger and walked through trees. To a rock that looked over a cute river.
Leslie took out a blanket from her backpack and set it on the rock for mud to sit on and then handed me a ham sandwich as I smiled and looked out at the water and the moon took a bite
"Like it?" She asked
"Yep" I smiled
"I have about ten minutes" she whispered
"What I though?"
"My daddy is really hard to convince to let me go out bible study ends in twenty minutes and it's a ten minute walk back to the church"
"I never see you or spend time with you how am I supposed to get to know you if we only ever have a couple minutes alone" I said
"Hey, you know me more than anyone.. More than I know myself" she said moving my head to face hers and then brushing her lips on mine before I connected our lips and kissed her like I won't see her again because at the point I don't know when I will.
"So I don't really know how to do this, who asks who but, are we dating now? I mean officially?" She asked
I tried to say yes but something didn't feel all the way right.
"I want to, I really, really want to but.."I started
"You don't like me? I'm so.. I'm so"
"No I like you, a lot. It's just I don't know if my friends are one hundred with this relationship and they-"
