Just Jump

"We have to jump?" Chloe practically screams. I know many other are thinking the same thing but I didn't really care. Dad is standing beside the edge and taking in the appearances of the surrounding transfers. I stifle a laugh and creep out of the crowd and up to the age. Dad nods and I jump off the age curled up in a ball. I let a laugh peel from my lips.

    I hit the net with force and laugh as I'm pulled off the net by Logan.

    "Thanks." I say while brushing off my clothes. I already know Logan pretty well.

    "No problem." He says. "First jumper- Harper!" I lead my way to the stairway but wait at the bottom for Bianca. The next person to come across is Noah. I bite my lip and try to mold into the wall.

"Harper?" Noah asks as he walks by.

"Just waiting for Bianca." I say swiftly.

"Oh. I'll wait with you." He says.

"Go find Chloe or something." I say not meaning to sound so rude. I see hurt flash in his eyes for a moment. "Sorry that wasn't supposed to be-"

"She's my cousin Harper. And might as well be your too since your so close to Christina." Noah says softly. Christina's an aunt?

"Oh." Is all I say.

"Why do you care all that much?" He asks. Umm how do you answer this.

"I don't know I-" il cut off by Bianca who finally jumps and runs to the staircase.

"Finally lets go up and wait on the slow transfers." I say with a grin and skip up the stairs swiftly by twos. I hear a pleasant scream once we reach the top and then a minute later Amaryllis emerges with her hair messy and a grin plastered on her face.

"That was awesome!" Amaryllis screams as she runs up the steps to us. "But you know your dad looks mean! I think he might just squash me!" I smile a little at that.

"He isn't that bad." I say but then Bianca and Noah give me a strange look and I say, "Okay okay, he is very bad." I laugh. "But he's a really good dad."

"Transfers with me and Dauntless born go with Scull." Dad says. I mumble something under my breath. "Harper? You wanna share something?"

"I'm good dad." I say quietly so he can barely hear me and only a few witnesses but whispers quickly spread.

"Good." Dad says and I roll my eyes. Noah elbows me and I elbow him in the side so it's very visible to everybody. "Harper?" Dad asks while raising an eyebrow.

"No I'm good I promise." I say with a mischievous glint in my eye. I hear a few snickers but I kinda like the gleam of getting in trouble. "Can I go on the tour?" I ask enthusiastically.

    "You've been on the tour the last six years."  Dad says.

    "True." I say hesitantly. "Okay fine I'll take a year off." I mumble and dad just turned an took the transfers away including Amaryllis.

    "Do you have a death wish?" Logan asked me. 

    "I've always asked for a quick death if that counts, lo- I mean Scull." I say quickly catching my mistake.

    'Scull' chuckled and walks ahead of us.

    "You seem to love getting yourself into trouble." Noah states.

    "I wouldn't disagree." I say smiling slightly. Scull turns around once we get to the dorms.

    "You know the drill. Go get your stuff and bring it here." Scull says and we all scatter. The transfers have someone bring their stuff later today.
