When I used to go to the gym

I hated it

It was a chore for me

Working out

Was about as bad as any test

At school

Now I relish

In the feel

Of burning muscles

When I lift weights

On different machines

When I do

150 stomach crunches

Instead of 100

Every little bit more

Solidifies that word in my head

Recovery

I am determined to become

The first person

To never relapse

With ME

Ever again

So going to the gym

And to the pool

Whether in the same day

Or different ones

Gives me that desire

Working out

Setting a new goal

Or new optimal

For more weights next time

Extra laps perhaps

I enjoy the endorphins

As they course through

My body

Because when I am

Working out

I don't have to think

Or solve problems

I just watch the computer

Count my sets for me

To make sure I lift

My targets

It's like each time

I go to the gym

I feel like I passed yet another test

Did something else I couldn't before

Or better

So my new goal

Now that I've resumed

My working out

Is to do 100 stomach crunches

Every single day

Whether I go to the gym or not

I have 30 lbs to lose to get

To the body weight that is

Best for my height and BMI

I intend to do it the way I did it
