What brought us together
Was our love for writing
Of a certain story
From different points of view

They were young
Yet head strong
Independent yet
Wanting comfort

What blew us apart was life
Simple as that
I was much older
Wanted to protect
My girls
From the big bad world

But I couldn't
And they flew away
In different directions
Towards wherever the wind
Would carry them

I hid my tears and blessed them
Someday I knew they'd return
With lives of their own
Happier
Wiser
Accomplished

I was right
One by one
They blossomed
Into young adults
Beautiful women now
Not just kids

One got married
To a true gentleman
And that ear to ear smile
Is contagious

The second
Not so shy anymore
Finished college faster then most
And is taking care of her mom
Her family
As she looks to go to grad school

The third
Crazy one she was
Lived in a totally different country
From the rest of us to begin with
Went from India to London
What a transition!
Just to follow her dreams

And the last
Who I was most worried about
Overcame everything
With two beautiful children
To call her own

Still miles to go before they sleep
Before we all sleep
But I take comfort
That these strong women
With their many goals
Dreams
Accomplishments

Will still and forever be just
My girls
