While brick and mortar

Doctorates have 3-7 years

On average

Sure you have lots of time

But are your classes

6 weeks at a clip

Without breaks

Unless you request them

With only two weeks off

In December

Yeah that's right

No month long winter holiday

No 2 or 3 months in the summer

No calendar days like

Thanksgiving, Memorial Day, 4th of July

Every week

Without fail

You have to hand in

Multiple DQs

Perhaps a journal

Don't forget the paper

Anywhere from 3-15 pages

A 5000-word count

And those DQ's?

You have to give feedback

To two classmates

With sources

Now comes

The meat and potatoes

Your dissertation

You start that

Idea, research, committee selection

So forth to the 40th power

While you're doing all of the above

Oh we don't wait

Until the end

I'm in my 6th class

I already have a general topic

Going to email some professors

Asking them to be my chair

And committee respectively

Start my climb

To my next portion

Of my moon

When I get home

As well as continue

Class 6

Will reach out and contact

With those central to my topic

Start the annotated bibliography

When I have time to research

I have to put things

With health and all

Into perspective

Did you know

There are only like

Why am I saying all of this?

Because I'm tired of the

Sourpuss looks I get

When I say I'm doing an

Online Ph.D.

If you don't know

Don't judge

We are working just

As hard as

"Regular schools."

Our tuition is

As high as

The upstanding

Schools of this country

We are

Students

We are

Innovators

We are

Professionals

With families

And lives

Don't look down

On us because

Online Ph.D.'s

Are the schools

Of tomorrow!
