From feeling like
I had just started to understand
To being taken to a total
Alien land
A land of confusion
Not understanding
Second guessing
Unsure of every step
Turn, glance, breath
The concepts foreign
The words oblique
I wonder in this world
Afraid that the next thing
I do will result in total failure
I cannot afford that
Not personally
Or academically
But I truly do not know
How to escape this
Alien land
I have to come to it
At least 2 more times
How do I ensure success
In a place where
I know nothing
I can prevail?
Six weeks each
These classes last
Alien lands multiply
Yet I don't have permission
To leave and never to return
Take me home
Where I shall be secure
Understood
Safe
I just want to be part of
My own galaxy again
For this alien land
Isn't home
