Every year
On March 8th
The world celebrates women
Of all ages
Colors
And creeds
Tis fascinating when
More countries join the festivities
Forever this holiday was based
In Europe and other places
So to see it
Finally come to America
And be understood as a wonderful
Part of history
Is a great evolution of this country
Regardless of what divides
We face today
Each March 8th
We celebrate
International Women's Day
I remember stories
My mom told me of how
It was in the USSR
Wasn't like mother's day
Where it's only about women who
Had children
All women
Young and old
Were
Are
Honored on this special of days
Even little girls
Get to feel the pride of
What his holiday is really like
Flowers are given to each
It's a beautiful experience
And with each passing year
I hope it gets bigger and bigger
Until every country
Especially those where women
Are only seen and not heard
Get to celebrate their femininity
Womanhood
