Synchronicity

Everything happens for a reason

We have all heard this

But just how much has to

Align itself for cool things to happen

I changed my seat

For my flight home from

Denver when I first arrived

From a window seat in the back

To an aisle seat in the same

3 seat A, B, C as I did

Coming down

Ended up sitting near a woman

Who is a singer/songwriter

Whom I have a lot in common with

She wants to read my books

I want to give her info of an

Agent friend

My last lunch in Denver

I invited a classmate

To join my friend and me

My classmate ended up

Helping my childhood friend out

With some things as she works

In that field

Networking goals!

My flight home got delayed

Boo!

But I got to hang out with

My fellow CT Ph.D-er

While I waited because

Her flight was later

Synchronicity

Is all around us

If I hadn't done

This in-res

Would I have met

The same amazing people?

Had such an awesome

Connection with everyone?

Would I have

Met someone else

From CT doing

Her doctorate?

Something as small

As inviting a person

To lunch

Changing a seat

Getting delayed

Or as large as

Going on a trip for school

Just how the universe aligns

Itself to make things work out

Not just for me

But for others as well

If I hadn't spoken

About the illness

And its lack of funding

Would cross-cultural ethics

Still be my topic?

The passion in my voice

The knowledge I possess

Both first hand

And through the community

The many holes in this issue

I can jump into

All of it

It suddenly reminded me

Of what I said when I was

A toddler

Stuck in a car in a

Snowbank in the

Middle of nowhere Belarus

"Someday, I will help all people."

With 7 billion people

On this planet

If what I ultimately

Publish in my dissertation

Helps even 1 person

Or gets the ball rolling

On further publications

Then I have helped

Save my people

A community

That saved my life

And isn't that

The most beautiful

Synchronized

Gift of all?
