Surprise visit

Mathew POV

I tucked Alex in bed and went into the living kitchen area. I sat on the couch and started to read. I was about to turn the page when I heard a knock at the door. Setting my book down, I got up and opened the screen door and saw Sebastian and Ciel there.

"Ahh you made it." I said quietly "Come in Alex is asleep so we have to be quite." I opened the door and they walked in. I looked at Ciel and he looked like he was going to pass out. "How about you put lord Ciel in bed, Sebastian."

He looked at his young master then nodded "Alright."

"No I'm fine, I want to help decorate for tomorrow." He said but then started to drift off

I watched as Sebastian picked him up and brought him to the other room without a fight. I guess that he was to tired, I said to myself

Sebastian came back out closing the door behind her. "Was she to upset?" He asked

"Yes but I think that this will make up for it." I told him

We got the place ready all cleaned and decorated. "You should go get some sleep now Mathew I know how much you need it now."

"It not that I don't need sleep. I just like it, because even though I'm a demon I can dream and I mostly dream about Alex." I said with a smile

"Well go it's late." He said

"Thank you" I slide the door and walked in the room. Of course Alex was peacefully sleeping in the bed. I walked over to the bed and took off my tailcoat, vets and everything. I changed into a grey t-shirt and a pair of plain short and got in the bed next to her. As soon as I settled down she started to more and when she stopped she was curled up next to me with one of her arms around me. Smiling I closed my eyes, and fell asleep.

Sebastian POV

After Mathew went to bed I sat on the couch and thought. I didn't mean to upset Alex but I wanted to surprise her. Surprising her on the morning of her birthday. I did wish that I could have been there for you birth, or any of her past birthdays, I wanted to be there every step of the way, from the birth, her first step, to her first word I wanted to be there for it all but I couldn't.

I reached in my tail coat pocket and pulled out a folded up piece of paper. I open it up and it was an ultrasound for Alex that her mom send to me when she was 18 weeks. Folded up with it was a small note saying

'Meet our precious little girl, no matter what she will always be your daughter

Even though she won't know you she will love you like I love you'

I read the note over again for I don't know how many times, I folded the note but up with the ultrasound and placed it back in my pocket, and just sat there thinking.

Alex POV

I woke up beside a sleeping Mathew and smiled. I hugged him gently him, I didn't want to wake him but when I felt his arms around me tighten I knew that he was awake.

I looked up at him "Morning my beautiful"

"Morning Mathew"

"Shell we get you up and ready?" Mathew asked

I didn't want to get up knowing that today was my birthday and my father wasn't going to be here to celebrate, I didn't want to celebrate it without him.

"A-alright." I said sitting up

He got up and quickly got dressed in one out of his many formal butler uniforms
