To Be Loved

Special Ring

Alex POV

We returned home. I hid the photo of my baby girl inside Mathews tail coat pocket and got out running inside.

"Be careful M'lady." Mathew yelled. I didn't seem to hear cause before I reached the first step I slipped falling backwards on my ass in a puddle. I held my stomach protecting the baby.  "M'LADY." Mathew yelled rushing over and immediately helping me up.

"I'm alright Mathew. I'm alright and so is the baby." I said.

"You got to be more careful angel" My father said.

"Your shivering. Your soaked lets get you inside and changed in dry clothes." I didn't even know that I was shiver until Mathew said that I was.

We walked in my warm manor and up to my room. Mathew drew me and warm bath and I got in

He washed my hair then the rest of my body. "Mathew."

"Yes M'lady."

"Will you rub my shoulders please?" I asked.

"Of course." He started to rub my shoulders liked I asked. I liked when he rubbed my back or shoulders. It always relaxed me and calmed me down when I am nervous or scared.

After a while I felt myself being to drift off. I was in my happy place.

Mathew POV

Alex's breath began to get slow and more steady. I looked down at her. "M'lady?"

When she didn't answer I looked at her face and saw that she had fallen asleep. I smiled to myself. She was so beautiful.

I grab her towel and gently picked her up. I got her changed and ready to have a short nap. I know that being pregnant isn't easy.

After getting her dressed and layed her down and covered her up. I layed my tail coat next to her and kissed the top of her head.

'We are bearing a child and I haven't even propose to her. I must to it. I must propose but how should I?'  I thought to myself.

"But first if I'm  going to do it I must to ask her father if he would allow me." I made sure that she was alright then headed downstairs.

"How is she?" Sebastian asked.

"I gave her a bath and she felled asleep. She's resting. Um...Sebastian I have a question to ask you."

"What is that?" He looked at me.

"I would like your permission to..." I began but he stopped me.

"You make her happy Mathew. I would love for her to marry you."

I blinked but I was excited. "So get her a ring."  He said.

"Wait..." we both turned to the staircase and saw Harper.

"Hello kitten. Is there something wrong?" He said.

She got off the step and walked over to me. She opened my gloved hand and placed a ring. "Please."

"But isn't this."

"Her step father gave it to me. She always loved it and played with it. I found it in boxes upstairs. Please Mathew it would mean a lot to both of us if you used it." She said.

I nodded. "Thank you Lady Harper."

She smiled. "Your welcome." She walked over to Sebastian and went in his arms. "Alex wants to tell us herself doesn't she."

Sebastian nodded and hugged her. "Yes she does."

'Now on how to ask her.'  I thought.

I went to one of the other drawing rooms that had a computer and searched the weather for tomorrow.

I was happy to read that it was a nice sunny day with a clear night.  I know exactly where I wanted to propose to her. I looked at the ring and noticed that it still shined. That made me smile.

The ring looked gold as there was a gem in the center of it. I walked down to my room that was still mine even through I was sleeping next to next. I still had a room to call my own.

I looked around my room. I remembered Alex saying that she loved mermaids so I had made a seashell ring holder. The two shells were connected by the spine of the shell so they could open up.

I pulled out a little box from under my bed and opened it. The shell ring holder layed carefully still.

I picked it up and placed the ring in it. I sat it in my drawer of my bed side table next to my bed.

I went back out and made sure that i looked proper. I heard my name carefully. I turned around and saw Alex.

I smiled. "Ahh your awake. How did you sleep?" I asked.

"Good. Do i have a lesson today?" She questioned.

I nodded remembering the piano lesson. "Actually yes." I looked at my pocket watch. "Your piano lesson and it starts now M'lady."

She smiled and ran to the music room. "Come on Mathew. Your such a slow poke" she giggling said.

"You are in such a good mood.  Alright I am coming M'lady." I smiled and followed her.
