April's P.O.V.

I plunk my bag under the science bench, next to Tiff. I quickly grab my stuff from my bag and throw it onto the table, allowing me as much time before the lesson begins to start our gossiping session.

"Wow, speedy, what's hap..."

"You're so right, he's so gorgeous!" I excitedly squeal.

"What! You saw him? Did you speak to him?" She asks, feeling the lack of containment, just as much as I am.

"Ye-eahh! He's in my Math's set, we had a new seating plan and he was next to me!"

"You're so lucky!"

"I know!" We both squeal in excitement at each other, dancing on our seats, being the silly little girls we both feel we grew out of. The lab started to fill with people and we hushed our voices accordingly, but continued to chatter.

---A few hours later---

"Hey" My phone lit up, revealing the message from an unknown number. Being next to the sheet of paper I was writing on as biology homework, the light guided me to the screen.

Knowing I probably shouldn't let my phone distract me, as the homework is due in tomorrow, I instantly reply back: "Hey".

I place my phone upside down, knowing I really shouldn't be this bothered about texting a stranger, and that my time is better spent  doing homework. I pick up my own and tap it on my work, trying to get myself back into my train of thought. I was two pages down, half a page to go. Excruciatingly close but so mentally far away.

I flip my phone back over, giving in to my temptations. Back screen. I press the home button, waiting for the 2 second delay before an empty screen lights up, showing nothing but the time and date. Feeling slightly angry I'd let this text ruin my concentration, I threw my phone onto my bed that was conveniently behind me.

"Come on April, 'the enzymes in the mouth break down food molecule chemically, but' eugh!" I give up. I'll set an alarm and come back to it in an hour or so. I spin round and pick up my phone to set an alarm.

"Surprised you replied, didn't have me as a girl that would text strangers." Wow that's a bit creepy. My heart quickened in pace as I read the text.

"How did you get my number?" I reply, well I guess it's too late to ask for his name...

Instantly I get a reply.

"I'm a man of many talents, but as you know, maths isn't one of them."

My heart sinks, why would he want to text me? Is this some sort of sick joke? Is he laughing at me with his friends? I put my phone on airplane mode, not bothering with the timer, I guess I'll just wing it in form tomorrow morning. I'm not in the mood for games.

---The next day---

"What have you got first, April?" Tiffany asks me whilst standing in the corridor.

"Maths, you?" I reply matter-of-factly.

"Maths! With him! Oh tell me all about it!" She gushed, tapping my arm as she walks away.

I push open the door to my maths room and dread fills my body. Really not in the mood to be made fun of.
