"Just keep him busy!" I groaned, Liam seeming to be an unreliable choice at this moment. He was supposed to take Niall out and make sure he wasn't at our house, which seemed to be too difficult of a task for him.

"I can't help it! He keeps complaining saying he just wants to spend his birthday with you!" I mentally awed, because that was pretty damn cute of him.

"Well figure something out, Liam! This has to go perfectly." I sighed, running my fingers through my hair.

"Fine. But if he refuses and demands I take him home, it's not my fault, Becky, it's yours." He then hung up on me, causing me to roll my eyes. I returned to decorating the house, wanting it to look perfect.

"How does this look?" Harry asked, his hand resting on his chin. He had been in charge of hanging the 'Happy Birthday' banner, since he was the tallest.

"Looks perfect, Haz. Thank you," I sighed, hugging him.

"No problem, Beck. Anything else you need help with?" He smiled, being the sweetheart he is.

"Maybe you can help Louis blow up the balloons, yeah?" I smiled, him nodding and heading towards the boy. I looked around the room, smiling at the success of it all. Tonight would be perfect, and Niall will love it. Hopefully, that is. My phone then started ringing, Niall's face appearing on the screen.

"Niall, baby, what's up?" I tried to be as enthusiastic as possible.

"Eh, Liam's annoyed me to no end and I miss my princess. Just wanted to give you a call, telling you I'll be there in fifteen minutes." I squeezed my eyes shut. Fifteen minutes? We didn't even have the cake yet!

"Yeah, okay. Can't wait," I sighed, hanging up when he did.

"Okay guys!" I shouted, getting their attention. "Niall's gonna be here in fifteen minutes! So we'll do with what we have, now where is Sophia with the cake?" I groaned, the stress of planning this catching up to me. Right on cue, Sophia walked through the door with a large cake box in her arms.

"Thank God," I sighed in relief, taking it from her and setting it onto the table. I opened the box, nearly screaming when I read the top of it. "Neil? Are you kidding me right now? I groaned, tugging at the roots of my hair.

"I'm so sorry Becky, I was just in such a rush I didn't look at it and-" Sophia rambled, when suddenly the front door opened. Niall walked in, Liam trailing behind him with a guilty look on his face.

"Becky? What the hell is going on?" Niall laughed, scratching his neck. He looked around, raising his eyebrows at the mess around us.

"Surprise?" I spoke weakly, my voice faltering. I felt like such a failure, I couldn't throw my own boyfriend a party.

"Party time!" Louis exclaimed, turning on the music to a blaring volume. Harry started talking to Niall, so I took it as my cue to escape for a few moments. I snuck out the back patio, sitting on the porch and letting my feet dangle above the ground. The perks of being short, half the time when I sat anywhere, my feet wouldn't reach the ground. A single tear slid down my cheek, me not bothering to wipe it away. I sat, thoughts of how much of a failure I was running through my head. I couldn't do anything right. All I wanted was to throw my boyfriend a perfect surprise party, yet all I managed to do was be unprepared, get a cake with his name spelt incorrectly, and I didn't even get to surprise him. I heard the door open behind me, and I quickly wiped my face dry, although my puffy eyes would give me away quickly.

"What are you doing out here?" I heard the familiar Irish accent, and I turned to him. He frowned when out eyes met, him immediately sitting down and pulling me into a hug. "Why're you sad? It's my birthday," He chuckled, trying to lighten the mood.

"Because it's your first birthday home in a while... I wanted it to be special, but instead I ruined everything." I frowned, hiding my face in his shoulder.

"You didn't ruin anything, babe. You're here, along with my family and best mates. There's jammin' music, and there's some damn good cake. What else could I ask for? It's perfect, honestly. Besides, I hate surprises." He smiled, pulling my face so I looked at him. He leaned down, gently kissing my lips.

"Thank you, Niall. I still wish it could've been better," I sighed, trying to push the negative thoughts away.

"It's perfect, Becky. As long as you're by my side, everything is perfect."
