Chapter 51

Anna's POV

Jai lets go of me as they close the door behind them.

"No no no no no!", I run straight to the door to open it but I feel an arm stop me.

"Anna they just want to talk with them", Jai says.

I slam my fist against the door sliding it down as the tears continue to stream down my cheeks. My eyes are burning from the amount of crying I have done in the past hour and my vision is blurred. I slide down the door but Jai catches me before I hit the floor.

"Anna please calm down", desperation fuels his words.

"It is all my fault. What was I thinking", I breathe.

"Don't say that", Jai says.

"I called the cops on my own brother. Beau is never going to forgive me I was just scared! I didn't want either of them to get hurt!", I cry and Jai pulls his arms around me pulling me into his chest.

"They didn't get arrested! Calm down now Anna they are just getting taken in to explain everything".

"Why are you being so understanding? I don't get it", I ask him.

He takes a deep breath before running a hand through his hair and breathing out deeply.

"I knew", he breathes taking a sit on the family room couch.

"I don't understand what you mean? Knew what?", I question talking a step closer to him.

"I knew you have been seeing Daniel this whole time".

My mouth drops open at his words.
How can he have known?

"Well not the whole time but I have know for a while now", he says quietly.

"How long?".

"For about two weeks.. I slowly put the pieces together".

"W-What..? How?".

"The guy at the tattoo parlor gave it away.. When we showed at up at the hospital and Daniel was there I got the hint something was up... Daniel and you barely talked, yet he didn't want to leave the room. Logan told me he was protecting you for someone and after I put all the clues together it all made sense. Daniel is your boyfriend. Plus you aren't as good as you think hiding that 'D' necklace. I saw it on your neck the other day and you always lyes it in plain sight...".

My hands travels to my necklace rolling it between my fingers. I feel my cheeks flush with pink.

"He gave that to you", he glances up at me.

Before I can answer a large grin grows across his face as he speaks.

"That is really cute", he gushes.

"He is labeling you as his... In a way it is wrong but is so damn cute", he mumbles. Jai was always a hopeless romantic.

"Why didn't you ever say anything?", I ask softly changing the subject as I take a seat beside him.

"I-I... I don't know. I saw how happy you were and I knew that the moment Beau found out-", he pauses breaking eye contact with me.

"That he would overreact", I finish the sentence for him.

"I didn't want him to find out.. I.. Daniel.. He-", he pauses once again.

"I am just happy he walked out of here alive", he says and I break down into tears once again. I feel my body tense up at the thought of Beau doing what he did to Logan.

"I was so scared they were both going to walk out of here in hand cuffs", be says and the thought of it makes me sick to my stomach.

Jai takes my hold and squeezes it gently. "I am going to help you.... I am not going to let what happened with Logan occur again. It isn't fair".

"It is different this time?", I tell him.

"I know. You love him... If only Beau would understand".

I wrap my arms around Jai snuggling my head into his chest.

"Thank you for understanding", I mumble into his chest.

He rubs my back softly trying to comfort. "All I want is you to be happy... If Daniel makes you happy-".

"He does", I quickly interrupt him.

"Then I understand", he says showing me a small smile.

"I love you Anna", his half smiles turns into a full one and for the first time today I return a smile.

"I love you Jai".

"Don't worry... Beau will come around.. I promise you I will make him. I am not going to let Daniel leave you for no reason", he promises me and I hope he is able to keep it.

"Well I should go ring mum and explain why Beau and Daniel are in custody. Wait does mum know?".

"Yes", I say softly...

"Haven't you noticed mum is never home when all these dramatic events occur", I question changing the subject and Jai laughs quietly.

"She can probably feel that family drama will occur so she knows to stay away", he smiles rising to his feet. Before turning away from me he speaks again.

"I can see the way he looks at you... He really loves you. I always wanted you to find a boy that will look at you like that... You found him.. I guess we just have to accept that it is Daniel", he smiles before turning to walk away.
