Chapter 5 The Princess' Knights

Her POV

I have so many questions in my mind right now and I don't know if it will ever be answered. Like, how am I gonna contact someone to take me and Kaelan out of here? Who is the boss that they wanted in exchange of me? And Kaelan's brother? I don't know which brother they're talking about.

Could it be him?

No. He isn't here.

He'll never come back here. But I'll still wait for him.

Before the man disappears, I grabbed his wrist and asked Corvette about her.

"Where is Alexandria Morfell? What did you do to her?"

He looked at my grip in his wrist and removed it. He fished something from his pocket and gave it to me. The locket. I reached for it and immediately placed it in my pocket.

I can't lose this again.

"The young lady Morfell have been granted freedom because of her parents. Pity you, she didn't even bother taking you out. Bad girl." sagot niya habang iiling iling na naglakad palabas ng silid.

I am relieved of the fact that she is now safe and free. But I felt disappointed that she didn't even bother about me.

No. He must be lying. I know Alice. She is my bestfriend and my family. She would never leave me. Maybe because this so called 'Quadro' only accepts the ransom that they want and does not consider connections. Yes. That's the reason. He's just lying. My bestfriend would never betray me.

I took off my shirt leaving me with my tank top. Yeah, I always wear something in between my undergarments and my shirt. Now that a part of my body was exposed, I realized that the wind coming from the broken window was cold, sending shivers to my body. I shrugged it off and started washing this bruised man's face.

This kid has been a little brother to me. He was there when I lost my parents. He was my protector against the bad guys.

Ah, I know. Life happened.

He lost the things dear to him. He lost his parents. He lost his brothers. He lost her. He lost himself. But didn't he realize that I was here? That Alice was here? "Please don't take her away from me. She's the only one that I have."

I heard him murmured. He was dreaming. But who is the girl that he's talking about? Could it be the young girl back then?

"Alexandria nee-san, don't run too fast! I can't keep up." the little girl pleaded as she stopped running, catching for her breath. I saw Alice running around the garden, not minding the young girl's pleas.

"But you will catch me if I don't" Alice reasoned out. I let out a soft chuckle while watching them. Then I saw Kaelan walking towards the young girl, giving her a bottle of water. The young girl immediately took it and drank like there's no tomorrow. She must have been thirsty.
