Chapter 8 Moonlight Vows

Perrie's POV

Acquiring all of the riches in this world is easy as baking a pie. You just need the ingredients, mix it, knead it and bake it. Then voila! It's ready to serve. However, there's one thing in this world that everyone deserves to have but have been deprived of.

Love.

The love that you can get from your family. The unconditional type of love.

Habang pinagmamasdan ko ang isang pamilya na buo at masayang magkasama, hindi ko maiwasang makaramdam ng inggit. My mom and dad were from a clan of doctors but they weren't doctors. They decided to depaet from their usual family tradition. That's why when they died, their clan obliged me to take medicine as payment for what my parents gave me. How pitiful was my life with that clan. But unexpectedly, someone claimed as my guardian and took me out. I haven't seen her for a long time.

It's been weeks since the incident happened and since Alice left. She bid her goodbye over the phone saying that she's leaving for Paris for a year. I asked her why but she said it was what she needed. Was it because of the woman who claimed to be her sister? Was it because of those abductors? I don't know. She said nothing to me. She left me and I felt so betrayed. But I trust her and respect her decisions although I knew I'd miss her so much.

Sa mga nakaraang araw ring iyon ay sinubukan kong kalimutan siya. But I know this will cost me an eternity.

I looked at my watch and it's already 4 in the afternoon. Kailangan ko nang bumalik ng Toledo bago magdilim. Nag simula akong maglakad pauwi sa lubak lubak na daan when I saw a black hummer going my way. Sinuri ko ang sasakyan upang malalaman kung sino ang nagmamaneho nito ngunit hindi ko ito makita. When the car was near my location, it slowed down and eventually stopped. The driver's side door opened and a woman appeared before me. She gave me a warm smile and slightly bowed.

"Binibini, ako ay ipinadala upang sunduin ka pabalik ng Toledo" I heard her soft voice which gave me shivers. She sounds like an angel. Ngumiti ako ng tipid sa kanya at sumakay na sa kotse.

I then remembered why she was here. Since the owner of the house, Lord Viktor, arrived, I've been treated like their special guest. The Lord has quite a huge household of bodyguards, considering that he owns business empire and my university, and he offered me five men to come and watch over me but I refused considering two reasons- I don't want to scare the natives in this area and another is that it feels too much for me. Ngunit nagpumilit ang ginoo kaya naman pumayag ako na isa lang ang mapahihintulutan ko. He then introduced me to this lady beside me who's maneuvering this huge car like it's just a toy.

"Kumusta ang iyong araw binibini?" tanong niya sa akin. I gave her a short but concise answer on what happened in my day. She also told me about how her day went and that the Lord will introduce me to some visitors. Siguro dahil sa mala anghel niyang boses at dahil na rin sa sobrang pagod ko ay agad akong nakatulog sa byahe.

"Shhh. Stop laughing Harper. You might wake her up"

"You look like newlyweds Trione, haha-ops! Sorry"

Naramdaman ko ang pagbuhat sa akin ng dalawang pamilyar na bisig. Gusto kong imulat ang aking mga mata ngunit hindi ko kayang kalabanin ang antok na dala ng sobrang pagod. However, I am still aware of my surroundings although I can't see it. And I know in whose arms I am right now.

"uh oh! Someone's jealous"

Narinig ko ang mahinang boses ni Harper ngunit masyado na akong nilalamon ng antok para iproseso ito. I just suddenly felt that I've been transferred to someone else's arms. When I was settled in that person's arms, my heart suddenly felt at ease. Like I found home in this person's arms. His warm and tight hold on me makes me feel so secured. But what made me worry is his heartbeat. It's fast and I can feel it. Dahil sa ramdam ko ang mabilis na tibok ng kanyang puso ay napukaw nito ang aking atensyon. I slightly opened my eyes and met another pair of eyes but my vision wasn't clear. Nevertheless, I know only one person holds those piercing eyes.
