Chapter 10 Bullets and Words

Her POV

I stared at the man who looks peaceful even on a hospital bed. Even with all those hose connected in his body, he still looks serene. On the contrary, he looks weak. I can see the bruises on his face. I can see the cuts in his lips. This is not the powerful man that I always see back in Toledo.

"Perrie, you have to go home and rest" i heard him say. Ngumiti lamang ako at umiling sa kanya.

The man has been extremely generous towards me. Giving me home, protecting me and taking care of me. When I went to Toledo, i only had Alice with me but she left me eventually. Kaelan's back to the Morfells. I only have the two of them but i guess i was destined to be alone.  But right now, it's different. I now have a family, even if not by blood.

"Young lady, the Vanguard is right. You need to rest" sambit ng ginoo na kanina ko lamang nakilala. He was Lord Viktor's right hand man and lawyer. Tipid akong ngumiti sa ginoo at ibinalik ang tingin kay Lord Viktor.

The door opened and three familiar creatures entered which made Orlando Aureville stand up and bow. One was the lady who brought me here, another lady was the one that I was looking for and the last one was the man i always long to see.

Nirvana walked towards me and asked if something happened to me. Why is everyone asking about how i am?  I shook my head and instead gave her a hug. I know what she's feeling right now. I can say by the gloomy look in her eyes. But those eyes still has that powerful gaze that could threaten someone. And i know that those gaze were meant for the people behind Lord Viktor's pain.

Ramdam ko ang tingin na ipinupukol sa akin ng lalakeng kadarating pa lamang. He is looking at me like he was checking if there was a scratch on me. Tss. Now you care?

"Binibini, kailangan mong umuwi at magpahinga." sambit ni Harper na ngayon ay tahimik na nakatayo sa may pintuan.

"Ako na ang mag uuwi sa kanya"

"I'll take her home"

Tiningnan ko ang dalawang lalakeng sabay na nagsalita. I saw them surprised to say the same thing at the same time. Tiningnan nila ang isa't isa at para bang nagsusukatan ng blangkong tingin. I then heard Trione's sigh of defeat. Oh come on!
Ngunit hindi napalampas noon ang makahulugang tingin ng mga tao sa paligid.

"I promised to fetch her but I failed. I have to fulfill my duty"

Of course, i was just a task for him. I knew it was like that.

Rinig ko ang bawat yabag ng kanyang paa. I walked fast for him not to cope with me but--

"ouch" i whispered as i felt the pain on my right foot.

Sinubukan kong tumayo ng maayos at iika ikang naglakad. I was hopping on my left foot when i suddenly felt that i was lifted.

"It will take us tomorrow if I just watch you" he said while carrying me like we were newlyweds. Inilagay niya ang braso ko sa kanyang balikat at nagsimulang maglakad.

I can't help but stare at him. I can't help but stare at the face that I longed to see for many years. My heart raced realizing that I am at his tight hold. This was what I dreaded to feel for a long time. But my heart aches as i remember what he said to his brother. How could he be that cruel? All this time i thought he and Trione were just framed up. But deep down in my heart, I still believe that he has his reasons. I still believe in the Raijin that I knew.
