Chapter 12 The Guardian

Her POV

I've never been this happy in my life. Everything seems to be in their right places and I can't control my heart due to immense happiness. It's like today is my first day of being alive. But on the other hand, I am afraid that this is something ephemeral.

The calm before the storm.

I shove the thought out of my head and went back to arranging the flowers on the vase beside the hospital bed. We bought these white roses, which was the Lord's favorite, on our way here. Nagulat ako nang malamang ito ang paboritong bulaklak ng ginoo. Hindi halata sa kanya ang pagkahilig sa ganitong kulay. When Raijin and I arrived here, it was only Nirvana and Sir Cortez.

The eldest daughter of Lord Viktor then excused herself to fix certain things and asked permission from me about taking Raijin with her. Nabigla naman ako sa kanyang pagpapaalam dahilan para mamula ang aking pisngi. Why is she even asking me? Tumango na lamang ako sa kanya ngunit hindi parin nakalagpas ang mapanuksong ngiti ng babae. I also saw Raijin smirk and secretly winked at me. Malandi. Tsk.

The two of them left, leaving me and the professor in charge of Lord Viktor. Tahimik lamang na nakaupo ang propesor sa tabi ng ginoo at pinagmamasdan ito. Nakikita ko rin ang paunti unting pagpatak ng mga luha sa kanyang mga mata at ang mahina niyang paghikbi. I just really hope that the man will wake up soon.

I sat beside her and gave an apple which she warmly received. Harper's like a younger sister to me now and seeing her smile makes me feel more alive. She's a happy virus even if she's insane.

"Oh, i'll tell you how fcking awesome I am young lady. You'll surely be fcking amazed! " rinig kong sambit niya at dali dali niyang inubos ang prutas na ibinigay ko sa kanya. Napatawa na lang ako dahil muntik na siyang mabulunan kaya binigyan ko siya ng maiinum habang ang dalawang lalake ay sabay na nagtakip ng tainga. Silly kid.

"So, my awesomeness goes like this. Today, I was able to locate and take down one big bad wolf who was a traitor of their pack through triangulation. However, I wasn't able to find who his fcking ugly King was. Nevertheless, I was able to find them due to my overflowing intelligence and my fcking photographic memory. Bwahahahah" tuloy tuloy niyang kwento. Hindi ko maiwasang maguluhan dahil sa sinabi niya pero alam kong may kinalaman iyon sa trabaho niya at kay Lord Viktor. Nakita ko naman ang gusot na mukha ng propesor habang hindi makapaniwala sa mga sinabi ng babae.

"Anong sabi mo Harper? May photogenic memory ka?"

Nabalot ng katahimikan ang silid at lahat ng mga mata ay nakatitig sa propesor. Maya maya ay nakita kong lumipad ang isang maliit na libro papunta sa kanyang direksyon at kasabay nun ay ang pagbatok sa kanya ng lalakeng nakaupo sa tabi niya.

"What the fck are you? Do you even know what fck means? Goodness." then it was the first time that I laughed my heart out. I was laughing so hard that I felt tears in my eyes. But then Harper stopped me and calmed me down.
