Chapter 28 Monster Kid

[Waterfall]

Sans felt like they had been being watched for quite some time, he looked at Undyne and she confirmed his suspicions when she hurled a spear at a nearby patch of grass where a no armed small monster jumped out looking more excited than afraid "woah! I got attacked by Undyne that's so cool!" He said before running off somewhere.

They continued on and Sans and Undyne no longer sensed any kind of spying eyes when they came across some tall grass, taller than Undyne even, Papyrus walked through first then Toriel then Undyne then Sans, then Chara who happened to bump into someone headbutting them "Owww... Whatcha do that for? I was just following you and Undyne.." The strange monster said and couldn't help but giggle, next thing she knew Sans was beside her instantly Undyne rushed through the grass after, Chara stopped them both before they trampled the poor monster and smiled at him,  "what's your name?" She asked.  He smiled proudly and puffed out his chest to try and impress Undyne who only scoffed afterwards "I'm Monster Kid but my friends call me MK, hey.. How did you get to be such good friends with the Great Undyne anyways?" A hint of jealousy in his words, Undyne spoke up first, "how long you been spying on us for, huh, punk?"she glared at him which made him shrink in fear his courage lost he cowered and frowned replying "I-i didn't mean to spy on you, it's just.. I'm such a huge fan Undyne I wanted to be your friend too! So I kinda followed you guys when I saw ya.." Undyne paused for a moment then not mincing words harshly said "who would want a scrawny weakling like you for a fan anyways, let alone a friend?" MK was crushed, his idol had just belittled him like all the other monster bullies tears welled up in his eyes and he screamed at her "JUST BECAUSE YOU'RE STRONG DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO BE SUCH A BULLY!" he ran afterwards crashing past papyrus and Toriel tripping once and getting up and running again tears falling behind him, after he was gone Sans and Chara both turned and sent disapproving looks at Undyne who scowled and frowned "is that what I am now, a bully to the monsters of the underground?" She looked down and frowned. 

Chara touched her hand "no Undyne you're not but what you said really hurt him, maybe we'll see him again, and you can apologize?" Undyne nodded and they explained what happened when they got out of the grass, Toriel and Papyrus both gave the same look to Undyne and Toriel gave her a good lecture to which Chara giggled since she remembered it well, Treat others how you wish to be treated.

A lesson well learned, Undyne nodded and thanked Toriel and they continued their walk through waterfall but there was no sign of Monster Kid anywhere, something was not right.
