Chapter 69 Flowey & Toriel

Third Person

Falling into a black abyss was never really a pleasure for the two, it reminded them of the void, which they both never wanted to return to. They fell for quite some time before blacking out, when they woke they were on the usual patch of buttercups, they walked out into the room where Flowey would be waiting for them, as they approached they heard a strange static like sound, and Flowey's look shifted slightly, he looked more afraid than normal, then he was back to normal and the static disappeared. "Oh great, you're back, what a surprise.." Flowey said with a sarcastic tone, Chara rolled her eyes and stepped forward "we're not in the mood Asriel" "Chara don't!" It was too late though, as Frisk tried to stop Chara from causing anything Flowey's look shifted again, the same static sound again, and the older Asriel appeared, then vanished, along with the static, Flowey dipped into the ground and didn't come back up, Frisk sighed "something is really wrong Chara" Chara nodded, "yeah, and we're gonna find out what." The two continued through the ruins, napstablook wasn't blocking the way in this timeline either(Author's note: I can't remember if I didn't add napstablook in the first few chapters but I'm certain I didn't) the room with the switches was all mixed up, the switches to open the next room were not behind the pillars but in the rooms before, after unlocking all the rooms, Frisk and Chara stopped at the spiked floor, they were all down, something wasn't right, Chara followed the normal path in case it was a trap, then the static was heard again, Chara rushed across pulling Frisk with her, Frisk's arm got caught by one of the spikes appearing with the static, but her HP didn't decrease, and there was no injury, there was just a blank hole in her arm, that wouldn't restore, not even at a save star. Chara was worried about Frisk and the dangers they would face further on, it was like, the static had the ability to erase determination, but that couldn't be possible, could it? "We're almost to mom's house, do you want to rest there, Frisk?" Frisk nodded and followed Chara up the stairs and into their room, Chara let Frisk rest on the bed while she went to search for Toriel, she wasn't in the kitchen, she wasn't anywhere in the house, then Chara thought of something and woke Frisk up, they walked down the stairs and down the hallway towards the doors that opened up to Snowdin, and sure enough there was Toriel, but something was off, "if you want to leave.. You're gonna have to get through me." Toriel turned around, her fur was grey, the static sound was back and louder than ever, her eyes were bloodshot, she looked very dangerous, they waited for the static to vanish while avoiding the fireballs Toriel threw at them, but it didn't stop, the spare option wasn't available, the only option was to fight,  but Chara couldn't bring herself to do it, Frisk jumped in and pressed the button, a slash across Toriel's chest, the static stopped and Toriel returned to normal, but before she turned to dust she spoke these words

You...

At my most vulnerable moment...

To think I was worried you wouldn't fit in out there...
