Chapter 34 Timelines

Third Person

Sans stayed silent for a bit, then he sighed, "Frisk, what I said is what I meant, I love Chara, I would follow her anywhere, she changed something in herself, and even changed something in me, I don't feel lazy or scared anymore, I feel truly, happy, Chara created these feelings in me and I'm not gonna give up on them. But you're still my friend kiddo, don't forget that." Frisk nods and turns around as Sans heads back inside, a single tear drop falling from her face, a frown replacing her normal smile. "Chara.. Why did you take Sans away from me? But this time like this..? I still don't trust you, I never will. I will get Sans back, I will.." She says after wiping her face hiding the tear mark left from the single tear drop she had shed and walks back inside, heading to Toriel's room.

Toriel woke up to the sound of knocking on her door, thinking it might be Sans wanting to relieve some stress by making a few jokes and cheerfully replied "who's there?" "Mom? It's Frisk" Toriel opened the door quickly and pulled Frisk into a hug. "Frisk! How wonderful to see you my child! I thought you were in another room just like Chara but I suppose I was wrong, how long have you been awake, my child?" Frisk looked down, she told Toriel of how she had woken up before the machine had been activated and how Chara almost disappeared because of her, how she still held resentment for Chara and told Toriel all about the timelines, Toriel sat and listened to every word, she frowned about the genocide timelines and smiled about the pacifist timelines, she couldn't help but feel disappointed in Frisk for resetting even though she had made it to the surface with all of them, and they were all so happy with her, but she shook those feelings away when she saw the sadness in Frisk's eyes and pulled her into a hug.

"It's all my fault..If I hadn't reset..then maybe..Sans wouldn't be like this right now.." Toriel froze after hearing these words but didn't press Frisk about it, she frowned but smiled after releasing her from the hug. "My child,  I forgive you for resetting, I wouldn't have remembered anyways.. Had you not told me, but I'm glad you did.. I'll keep this a secret only if you don't want to tell the others just yet." Frisk nodded, "I understand my child, there are more than just memories at stake this time my child, so please don't make any rash decisions." Frisk nodded and after a hug goodnight walked out of Toriel's room and to her own, she tucked herself in and frowned, "what changed about you Chara..? Why does Sans love YOU?" Chara felt a chill go down her spine, Sans immediately was beside her as he felt her tense up, she smiled at him reassuringly and he eased back into his chair, Chara relaxed again but couldn't help but feel that she was gonna need to be careful even after she recovered fully.
