Chapter 70 Sans

Third Person

"We.. We didn't... Did we? Did we.. Did we really just kill mom? Chara?" Frisk was in shock, her voice faltered with each breath, Chara didn't answer, she was fighting back tears, "we.. We can fix this.. Right? We can bring her back.. Can't we?" Chara didn't answer, tears were running down her cheeks, it hurt to cry, to think, Chara looked at the pile of dust that had been Toriel and frowned, she looked at Frisk then shouted "Frisk, don't!" But it was too late, Frisk had pressed the reset button.

But nothing happened.

"We can't reset? We really can't bring her back, can we Chara?" Chara was just as shocked as Frisk was, she never expected the reset button to fail, it's never happened, not even in the genocide runs they had done, so why now, is it because of what Gaster said? What would happen if they died in this timeline, without the ability to reset, what would happen to them? "We need to keep moving Frisk, we need to find a way to fix this" Chara said, closing off her emotions and pushed open the doors and exited the ruins, Frisk followed behind slowly, tears lingering in her eyes, the doors shut behind them and the cold air greeted them, snow crunched under their feet, the Underground felt the same as always, Chara and Frisk passed the branch on the way and got to the bridge, snap the sound of the branch snapping apart still caused Frisk and Chara to turn around, but no one was there, Sans wasn't where he was supposed to be, he wasn't there to greet them, so where was he?
Crunching snow Chara and Frisk turned around to see Sans, he was in the woods, his eye was glowing blue, something was wrong, Chara started to run but Sans shouted at them "no! Don't come closer! You'll get hurt! Stay away from all monsters in the underground!"

Sans

I struggled with my magic to prevent the changes that I'd seen happening to everyone in Snowdin, sometimes Paps wasn't Paps anymore, or at least he was, but not my Paps, and when I changed, the look of fear on my brother's face, I'd never seen him so afraid like that before, I never want to see that look again. I don't wanna hurt Chara or Frisk, but this static that changes everyone, you can't fight it, and the closer Chara got, the stronger it got, I saw tears in her eyes when she ran away from me like I'd asked, I fought back my own and hurried back to my hiding place, but the static got stronger

Chara

"I'm not gonna run from you Sans! I love you!" I had ran only a little bit before turning back and following Sans, then I heard the static, Sans's entire shape blurred, a crack appeared on the top of his skull, he turned around and he had a red eye, and an axe, that wasn't my Sans.

So maybe this brings some clarity as to what's going on, I'm sure it's still confusing and if so I do apologize
