Chapter 86 Righting Wrongs

Chara

I told Frisk I would lead the way, we walked into the ruins without hesitation, the spike traps were all still down, I looked at Frisk's arm, there was no glitch there anymore, which means when the world reset so did everything that happened within it, even glitches. The static sound snapped me back to reality, I quickly grabbed Frisk's arm and ran across the spikes and just barely avoided them again like last time, but this time, Frisk was unharmed, the static seemed to weaken when this happened, as though everything was returning to how it should be, no monsters attacked us while we walked through the ruins, and all the switches were already correctly used, Genocide wanted us to let our guard down. I told Frisk to prepare for the worst when we approached mom's house, the save star was gone, like it was never there to begin with, probably Genocide's doing, we knocked on the door, no answer, fearing the worst I pushed the door open, the smell of butterscotch cinnamon pie hit my nose, I calmed down immediately as mom came out of the kitchen carrying a plate with the whole pie on it, steam rose from the pie and the smell would cause anyone to follow, so we of course followed her to the table, she didn't need to tell us twice when she told us to take a seat we did, then she said something that shocked both Frisk and I.

"What happened, I thought Asgore and I both died while trying to get back to the underground, but I woke up in the ruins, and now here you both are, what's going on?" Mom still had her memories from the other time lines, what was going on? I decided to tell her, maybe this would help us against Genocide, I wasn't really sure, mom was silent for a long time after I explained everything that had happened after we got separated from her and Asgore, she didn't speak, she seemed to be thinking.

Third Person

Toriel got up without a word and went into Frisk & Chara's room, she came back with some clothes, two backpacks, a napsack, and a bunch of snacks, she set them on the table and smiled "I'm so glad to have learned all of this, though it's very confusing to me my child, you have done so much and been through so much, I'm so proud of you, of both of you, take everything here with you, these should help you on your way, I will go with you to open the door to exit the ruins, if I should change, I know you will do what is best." With that said Toriel walked down the stairs and left both Frisk and Chara upstairs, Chara packed up the pie and the snacks into the napsack and stuffed it into her backpack, Frisk stuffed the clothes and other provisions in hers and they both looked at each other "no more fighting."

A/N: 500 words takes me anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes to write, the final chapter(Chapter 100) will be the equivalent of 2 to 9 chapters, I'm not sure yet, but it will be the longest chapter in Hateful Love history.
