Chapter 49 The Journey Ends

Third Person

"Thank you... Frisk! But.. Your soul.. You didn't have to.." Frisk shook her head, "no, I did, I can't just let you disappear, not after finally getting to meet you, not after how much Chara's talked about you and how much she wished she had her brother ba-" Chara had clamped her hand over Frisk's mouth in embarrassment, Asriel got teary eyed and laughed, Chara's face got even redder, "just don't do something so stupid as trying to erase the world again, alright Asriel?" Asriel nodded and smiled, then was approached by Frisk, "will you come up to the surface with us Asriel? Now that the barrier's destroyed.. We can finally go up to the surface"

Frisk extended her hand out,  Asriel hesitated remembering his first encounter with the surface, but in Frisk's eyes he could only see warmth and determination, he took her hand and smiled back at her, "okay, sure, just.. Let me talk with my parents for a moment. Frisk nodded and lightly giggled at his ears flopping when he turned to run to where Toriel and Asgore were standing, Chara poked her shoulder, "are you crushing on my brother?" Frisk jumped back red faced "w-what?! C-Chara!? When did you get there!? H-how long have you been standing there!? What did you hear!? A-and w-what do you mean!? I have no idea what you're talking about!!"

She rushes off red faced while Chara is just left in a giggling fit rolling on the ground. Asriel ran up to Toriel first, hugging her and recieving one back, he walked more cautiously up to Asgore who had a stern look on his face, but when he saw Asriel in front of him he laughed and tears fell as he hugged his lost son, Asgore and Toriel doted over Asriel telling him how much they missed him while they acknowledged most of what he said and he explained everything to them of how he'd lost his memories and soul and became flowey and Chara and his plan to return the monsters to the surface and his failure, afterwards they hugged again while he told them he was sorry, away from this everyone was apologizing to Chara for getting captured, once everything had all been said and done Chara found Frisk and they all went up to the surface.

Light appeared in front of them and everyone rushed out into it, Papyrus asked "SANS WHAT IS THAT GLOWING YELLOW BALL IN THE SKY? Sans chuckled and replied, "I think that's called the sun, it provides light and warmth for the humans during the day, and the moon does the same at night, "IT.. IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL! I WANT TO FIGHT IT!"
Papyrus announced cheerfully as he threw a bone into the air missing and everyone laughing and having to explain to Papyrus that the sun was out in space millions of miles away, they had reached the surface, what new experiences awaited the group now? Sans wondered
