Night of Champions.

The boys were dressed and ready to go in the dressing room as I walked in. I was running late but for a good reason. We had all worried about what would happen to me but I found the solution and had felt like an idiot when I realized how easy it was. They had gotten masks for tonight, showing that they were really truly turning on the Authority and I had loved them. They were half masks, only covering the bottom half of their faces, a skeleton design on it. It was when I saw them that I realized what I was going to do.

"So does anyone have a plan about tonight or are we just winging it?" I asked, setting my bag down.

"NO idea. Winging it seems to be the running theme here." Dean commented, moving over slightly.

"Well we'll see how the night plays out I guess." I shrugged, biting my lip.

"You're running late." Seth commented as I stripped out of my pea coat.

"Ya my hair's a pain in the ass in cool weather." I lied, shaking it out so it was wild around my head.

"Hey Seth's got curly hair, you two should bond." Roman laughed, adjusting his gloves.

"Oh cute. Dean does too. You're the odd man out here Roman. Tread lightly." I teased, grabbing my bag.

He glanced around and frowned when he realized I was right. I smirked as I walked into the back. I was nervous about this as I stripped down. Pulling out a pair of black combat pants I put them on quickly, snapping the belt around my waist. They were tight around my hips, pockets around the thighs and I put my feet into the black boots. They weren't chunky but more feminine than the guys. Finally I pulled on a small black tank top and then a vest. It was smaller with pockets and snaps in the front. It only came down to my navel, showing my hip bones and belly button. The front was slightly lower, exposing my collar bones. Finally I taped my hands quickly, shoving my hands into my black gloves, fingers exposed. Looking into the mirror I let out a breath. I looked a whole lot tougher than before and it suited me. Reaching into my bag I pulled out my lip stain, knowing it wouldn't smear like lipstick. Applying it I gazed back at the now red lipped newest member of Shield. I was nervous about going out and I shoved everything back in my bag. The mask I had bought was in my hand and my bag in the other. Walking out I set my bag down. The three men were standing facing the TV, backs towards me.

"Your match is third, before Daniels, "Seth called hearing me walk in, "So I don't think our luck is going to..." he trailed off, turning around and seeing me.

His eyes were widened as he looked me from head to toe. Dean and Roman turned, wondering why he had trailed off and they froze. I stood there, holding the mask in my hand, eyes focused on them. Seth rubbed a hand over his mouth, a grin forming and I grinned back, resting my thumbs on my belt.

"If you'll still have me, I'd like to join Shield." I asked, voice ringing around the room.

Dean's eyes were dark as they travelled my body, taking in the boots and the vest before stopping on my face. His gaze lingered on my red lips, noticing the change from the pale ones I usually wore.

"Are you serious?" Roman asked, a disbelieving look on his face.

"It's easier this way. We all have each other's backs if we're all together right?" I stated, looking at them all.

"Exactly. We're brothers." Dean nodded, coming to stand next to me.

"So do I fit in then?" I asked, tugging on the vest.

"You look like a member of the Shield." Roman nodded, coming on the other side of me.

Seth came last, standing in front of me. Holding out his hand he held it there as Roman put his out and then Dean. I put mine in, touching each of their fists. Grinning I glanced at each of their faces, sealing my fate as a member of the Shield. We broke apart and I tucked my mask into my back pocket, sitting on the bench.

"Ok I have to say it, Lila you look hot." Seth blurted out, Dean letting out a bark of laughter.

"Seth!" Roman barked, frowning at him.

"Dude I'm sorry but come on man. She does." He grinned, looking over at me.

"I'm gonna go out on a limb here and agree with Seth." Dean joined in and I grinned at him, feeling a faint flush color my cheeks.

"Ok you guys are killing Roman here stop." I laughed seeing him glaring at the two men in the room.

They laughed and I shook my head. The waiting was excruciating and I kept getting up and sitting down, pacing around the room. Dean was shadow boxing in the corner and Seth and Dean were talking amongst themselves. I leaned down, pressing my fists against the floor. Jumping down I did a couple push ups before jumping back up. Pushing my fists against the wall I leaned my forehead against it, feeling the coolness against my skin. Dean was suddenly beside me, taking my hands in his.

"Stop. You're gonna get yourself all worked up for nothing." He commanded, shaking my arms to loosen me up, "You know you got this. It's only AJ."

"I know. I guess I'm just a little more worried about what people are going to think about this." I glanced down, meaning my new alliance.

"Screw them. You're still you." He shrugged, letting go of my hands.

"I guess."

"Hey are you keeping your music?" Seth asked and I let out a laugh, thinking about my music.

"Hell no. My music was a fuck you to you guys. Now I'm part of Shield. It really wouldn't make sense to keep my music when it's making fun of me." I laughed, seeing their grin.

"I told you her music was about us." Seth mumbled, smile slipping.

"Oh don't be sulky Seth. It doesn't suit you." I grinned, leaning back against the wall.

I looked over seeing the commercial break and I knew it was time for me to go out there. Putting the mask on my bag as it was for later I turned to the three other members of my team. It felt weird to be a part of a team again but I liked it, felt like being home. They all stood holding out a fist and I put mine in, gazing up at the three of them.

"Believe in the Shield." Seth murmured, glancing up at me.

"Believe in the Shield." I nodded, letting out a breath.

Roman flicked the hair from my shoulder and I gave him a grin, feeling more and more confident each second. Opening the door I walked out, heading down the hall. I crossed my fingers I would run into anyone. Of course my luck wouldn't hold out and Nikki came out. I winced, having a terrible feeling all my other friendships were over.

"Wow Lila." She gasped, looking me over, "You look bad ass."

"Thanks." I murmured, shocked that she wasn't turning on me.

"I'm guessing you joined up with Roman and Shield." She commented, touching the vest.

"I can't do this alone Nikki. I know they don't seem like the best people but they are." I explained, feeling the need to.

"Hey I told you I would never turn on you and I won't. I saw it when Dean was going to take you to medical for your shoulder. And I saw it on Smackdown when they stood up to Evolution." She smiled, giving me a hug.

I closed my eyes, thankful she understood me. I gave her one last smile before heading to the gorilla, seeing and hearing AJ walk out just as I got there. I turned to Brian who was staring at me, open mouthed.

"I need a music change Brian." I told him, hands tapping my sides.

"I can see that. Ok we'll just keep the video and change the music. Should be easy enough." He nodded, glancing at me one more time before turning to the booth.

I was nervous as I waited anxiously, hearing AJ's music fade out. Taking a deep breath I heard it start.
