After Smackdown.
I was still reeling from the shock of Nat walking away from the WWE. She had announced before our match that win or lose, she was leaving the company. I had fought hard but in the end I let her get the win without her knowing. I hugged her in the ring, fighting back the tears in my eyes. Now sitting in my room I thought about all the Diva's. Nikki had her team and Team BAD was their own thing. Paige was the only other individual Diva and I couldn't stand her. There was a strange feeling of loneliness realizing I was the only one without someone. Suddenly my phone lit up with a number I didn't recognize. Usually I didn't answer but this time I pressed the green button and brought it to my ear.
"Hello?"
"Lila." Seth's voice rang in my ear, and I almost hung up right there.
"How the hell did you get my number?" I asked, leaning back against the headboard, flipping through the channels on the TV.
"Took it when you stayed with us in the bus." He mumbled, sounding like he was outside.
"That's not something a stalker would do." I commented, eyes focused on the TV.
"Lila we need to talk." He ignored my comment.
"No we really don't. In fact we've already been on the phone too long." I frowned, clicking the remote, deciding on AFV.
"Open the damn door Lila or I'm going to make a scene out here." He threatened, the amusement obvious in his voice.
"Fuck Seth." I snapped, hanging up and walking to the door.
Yanking on the handle I opened the door to see Seth with a 6 pack and some takeout food. He had a sly grin on his face, not at all fazed by the scowl on mine. Pushing past me I threw my hands in the air, frustrated beyond belief.
"Come right on in." I rolled my eyes, slamming the door, "What the hell are you doing here?"
"Look I know you're pissed at us ok but I do want to talk to you." Seth sighed, putting the stuff down on the table. He cracked a beer handing it to me as a truce offering.
I had my hands on my hips. I only had a small tank top and shorts on and I stared down at him holding the beer. He shook it slightly, raising an eyebrow. Taking it from him I sat on the edge of the bed, bringing it to my lips. I took a long pull as he handed me a silver foil wrapped sandwich.
"What did you mean I might be on to something with the Authority?" I asked, un-wrapping it and taking a huge bite.
He took a bite of his sandwich, a thoughtful look on his face. I hadn't realized how starving I was until I took another bite. I chewed and swallowed, washing it down with the beer. He put his down, holding the beer in one hand, his one leg resting on his knee.
"I don't like what they're making me do when it involves you." He stated simply, meeting my eyes.
"It's never bothered you before." I shrugged, taking another sip of my beer.
"Well it bothers me now. So the question is what the hell do I do about it?" he mused, shrugging out of his jacket, setting it on the back of the chair.
"Talk to your boys. I'm sure they will have an idea. Why come to me?" I asked, crossing my legs finishing the last bite of my sandwich.
"I can't talk to them about this. I'm questioning the Authority here Lila. You know how serious they get when it comes to following orders. Look they call me the Architect for a reason. I put this group together, I can't start casting doubts otherwise we fall apart." He explained, leaning his elbows on his knees, staring at me with his beer dangling.
