Sunday Afternoon
The whole morning in the bus was awkward as Dean and I avoided eye contact or communication. Nobody had talked or attempted to make conversation and the tension was nearly unbearable until Seth offered to go to the gym with me once we stopped. The crew was always here a few days early to set everything up and I had jumped at the opportunity. Changing into gym clothes we made our way to the arena, headed to the gym. Working out with Seth was easy, he kept both of us focused and pushing for the extra one. When we took a break I was sweaty and exhilarated, endorphins running through my limbs.
"So the bus sucks." He gasped, taking a drink from his water bottle.
"I'm sorry. He just irritates me to no end and then he acts like he can talk about things he thinks he knows about. Pisses me off like nobody's business." I admitted, taking the water he offered.
"Ya there's not one word to describe that man." Seth chuckled, sitting on the bench, hands between his knees.
"There really is." I argued, "It's crazy. I knew he was unstable but he's crazy."
Seth threw me a look and I rolled my eyes, not in the mood to argue with anyone. Of course just our luck Dean walked in, hands wrapped and headed towards the bags. Seth gave him a little salute as he walked by and I turned away, a bored look on my face.
"Thought you would be on the treadmills Lila." He called out, walking backwards.
"What do you mean?" I asked, whipping around and taking the bait.
"Oh you know since running is your specialty." He smirked, dimple flashing.
I was instantly furious, glaring at him as he stopped, holding his hands out at his side. Seth stepped next to me, a hand on my back, keeping me in place. His face wasn't too happy as he stared at Dean.
"Hey take it easy man." He called out, catching Dean's attention.
"Oh so now you're on her side." Dean chuckled, eyes narrowed though.
"When did we start choosing sides? We're all on the same side here." Seth asked, a frown on his face.
"It's hard to be on the same side when one person isn't even sure they should be there." He commented, glancing at me, "Whatever though Seth. Choose her and watch her walk out on you."
I glared at him as he walked away, pulling his hood up over his hair. I had no idea how we had went from protecting each other to being each other's enemies. Seth shook his head and put his hand on my back, leading me away. Grabbing our stuff we headed back to the bus, avoiding a confrontation for the time being. I had no idea what was going to happen tomorrow on RAW.
Monday Night RAW
I knew things were going to be bad but I had no idea they were going to get this bad. I was taping my hands, RAW already under way as Dean and I stared at each other. Our eyes shooting daggers at each other as we sat on opposite benches, Seth and Roman sitting on the couch watching us. My hands were clenching and unclenching as he rotated his neck, blue eyes blazing.
"Ok this is ridiculous you guys come on." Roman said suddenly, breaking our staring contest, "We have to go out there soon against Evolution and we need to be focused."
"I'm focused." I told him, clipping my vest.
"Focused on running maybe." Dean mumbled and I stood up, reaching my breaking point.
