Late night on John's bus.
I was lying on the bed, looking out the dark window. I couldn't see anything but my own reflection and I sighed. I put on my cheery face after my confrontation with Shield and we all came back to John's bus before we took off, stopping at the hotel to grab our stuff. John and Phil were still playing games and I was lying in bed, not in the mood to socialize. I had a tank top on and shorts, my hair in a bun on the top of my head. Tracing a pattern on the window I laid on my back, tired but with a racing mind. I heard footsteps and the sliding door opened, Phil standing in the doorway.
"You still up?" he asked into the darkness of the room.
"Ya I can't sleep." I answered, watching his silhouette in the door.
He shut the door slightly, leaving it open a crack for the light. HE tugged off his shirt, throwing it to the floor before climbing beside me, lying on his stomach. I was on my back, hand resting in my hair. There was a slight awkward silence between us and I knew he wanted to talk about the match.
"I'm not going to lose against her Phil I'm sorry." I blurted out, not able to handle the silence anymore.
"I wouldn't expect you to." He mumbled, sitting up on his forearms, "But I want to get my hands on Ambrose too."
"I'm not going to let him tag in. The Authority wants to play games well I can do that." I promised, reaching out a hand, brushing through Phil's hair.
"You can't protect me anymore than I can protect you Lila. One of us has to win this match." He sighed, resting his head on my arm, letting me play with his hair, "I hope it's you."
"Dean's an animal and I see it now. I have all the faith in the world in you Phil but with him and Seth and Roman I don't know..." I trailed off, " And we both know they're gonna be there."
"Don't worry about them. Worry about pinning Paige. Look everything will be fine Lila I promise. Just try get some sleep." He murmured, his voice sleepy, throwing an arm over my waist.
I knew he was trying to get me warm so I would fall asleep. My hand kept playing in his hair but it was a long time before I got sleep that night. When I finally fell asleep the sky was lightening and I could see the landscape fly by.
Monday night RAW Raleigh NC
I was in the locker room, checking on the scratches on my arm, They had healed up nicely, no sign of infection. Pulling my shirt on I slipped into a pair of wrestling shorts instead of my leather pants. I had a pair of thigh high wrestling boots and I laced them up. My shorts weren't as tiny as some of them but they still showed a lot more than I was used to. Since we were in Jeff's state I was even more pumped than usual, wishing they were here. IT was only 6 but I wanted to be ready early on. Hearing the door I walked out, opening it and almost dropping to the floor. Jeff stood there, both of our mouths were dropped open.
"Jeffrey Nero fucking Hardy!" I exclaimed, launching myself into his arms, nearly bowling him over in the process, "What the hell are you doing here?"
"Lila you are in North Carolina, You've gotta be crazy if you think I'm not gonna come and see you." He drawled, squeezing the life out of me as he carried me back into the locker room, "Plus I thought you could use some moral support."
"Oh you have no idea how good it is to see you." I mumbled into this shoulder, not minding the prolonged hug.
"You're telling me. Now let me take a look at ya." He grinned, pulling away, holding my hands at my side.
