Jax lead me away to the waiting cab and I joined him in the backseat, my brother giving the hotel name. I kept quiet the whole ride, wondering where to start explaining everything that was going on with me and this company. I never had enough time as we pulled up, Jax paying and pulling me from the vehicle. We went into the hotel, making our way to his hotel room. He had a decent sized room and I sat on the armchair, watching him throw his jacket on the bed, pushing his sleeves up and facing me.

"Alright October you need to start explaining how the hell you got Kane and his buddies ganging up on you, "Jax sighed sounding worried and if I wasn't mistaken, frustrated, "I watched them chase you around that damn ring, ready to kick your ass. And then you come out of left field like a bat out of hell and beat the hell out of three grown men!"

His voice had gotten a little hysterical by the end of that and I stayed quiet, eyes wide as I watched him clear his throat, calming himself down. Taking off my sweater I laid it on the side of the chair, crossing my legs in my usual pose. Gathering my thoughts for a few more moments I blew out a breath, no idea where to start.

"Ok how about something easier, when did you decide you were coming back?" Jax asked finally after the silence stretched on.

"Honestly it was a snap decision kind of thing. I went to watch RAW live and Steph heard I was there, she invited me to do commentary on Phil's match and then offered me my job back." I explained quickly, Jax nodding.

"So you didn't see Roman till you were back?"

"Roman was against Phil that night. The Shield was part of the Authority when I got here which is why I was with Phil. I couldn't stand them when I started Jax, like I mean I really hated them." I said quickly, letting out a breath.

"Because of Roman or because of the Authority?" he questioned, pulling his leg on the bed.

"A little of both," I admitted, resting my chin in my hand, "I couldn't stand to see Roman after everything, I mean I thought I was over it but I wasn't. I was determined to hate Seth and Dean as well but they made it pretty easy to do it. I nearly broke Dean's nose and I drop kicked both of them more than once. Plus I superman punched Roman defending Phil."

"October!" he exclaimed, eyes wide, "So how did you manage to go from fighting them to fighting with them? You said it had something to do with Kane and how they protected you?"

A smile broke across my face as I recalled the memory of that day in the ring. How Seth had looked so serious only to turn around and protect me, how Dean and Roman always had my back now because of it.

"Well I don't know if they would have if Seth hadn't weaseled his way into my life. He's a real sneaky shit." I said fondly, eyes warm, "Seth just kept talking to me when he saw me and suddenly I realized I was texting him and talking to him more than anyone else. Dean would randomly pop out as well, but he was more along the lines of taunting me till I gave him a reaction."

"I can see that." Jax nodded, a grin on his face.

"That night Kane ordered Shield to take me out, to make an example of what happens to people who stand up to the Authority." I reminisced, picking at the arm of the chair, "Instead they turned on Kane, beating him down and protecting me."

"So how did Phil take all this?" he murmured, and I could feel my face darken.

My jaw clenched instantly and I stopped what I was doing. Jax knew he hit a sore spot with me, searching my face as I took a breath, calming myself. Looking up I knew I must have looked angry.
