Next Day
After handing my note in to a relieved Steph and Hunter I had hopped a plane from Kansas City to Phoenix where Jeff had his next fight. I figured that since he surprised me last time, this time it was my turn to randomly show up. I knew Matty would be there and he would let me in. Finding the back entrance I slipped in, walking through the halls, looking for Jeff's room. I had a pair of leggings on with my new purple shiny pumps. My own WWE loose white tank top with 'Unpredictable' across the chest in cursive and my grey leather jacket. Even though we were in Arizona it was already October and getting cooler rapidly. Finding Jeff's name I slipped inside, seeing something similar to the WWE's locker room. Finding the TV I turned it on, just as Jeff's match was ending. His was the last match and I was glad for my timing. Sitting on the couch I crossed my legs, checking my twitter.
Hope @Lilaxox is ok from TLC. Kane is in for a whole world of trouble now. #WildCard
What monster would do that to the people's favorite? @Lilaxox we love you here in Kansas City! <3
I smiled as I read all the supportive tweets and I scrolled through, reading all the encouragements. I saw I had requests from Seth and Roman and I accepted them, deciding it couldn't really hurt at this point. I figured Dean wasn't a huge social media guy so I wasn't too worried about his lack of interest. My heart ached slightly as I saw Seth's latest tweet.
Making the right choice is hard. Believe in yourself and in The Shield.
I hadn't even started thinking about anything, waiting to see Jeff so I could bitch and whine and cry about it. Unfortunately he wasn't thinking with the right head as the door burst open and I heard a woman giggle. Rolling my eyes they burst in, her hands all over his chest. They didn't notice me sitting right there as their mouths were latched onto each other, pressed against the locker. I cleared my throat, startling them apart.
"I could leave if I'm interrupting." I offered, legs crossed and phone twirling in my hand.
"Oh my God, Lila." Jeff breathed, worry instantly coloring his face and I knew he saw what happened at TLC.
"Seriously you bring me back here when there's another girl waiting?" the blonde woman asked, hand on her hip.
"Woman, not girl. It's ok it takes a while to be able to notice a difference for people like you." I raised an eyebrow delicately.
"People like me?" she scoffed, flipping her hair over her shoulder.
"I think you should go." Jeff murmured, glancing down at her and she whirled on him.
"Really? You'd rather her over me?" she gasped, as though it was the ultimate sin.
Jeff didn't say anything and I waved as she stomped out, slamming the door so hard it rattled the frame. Jeff was red under his face paint and I stood up slowly, still unbelievably sore. He walked over, taking my hand and helping me the rest of the way up. I gave him a smile, squeezing his hand.
"Where's Matty?" I asked, glancing around.
"He's got his own room next door." He explained.
"Maybe I should have went there first?" I teased, enjoying the way he flushed and looked away, face sheepish.
"It's not always like that." He stumbled over his words.
"It's fine. None of my business anyways." I shrugged, a smile on my face as I raked my fingers through my hair.
"So what the hell are you doing here? I would have thought you would be resting after everything that happened. Jesus that was insane to watch Lila, I was so worried." He admitted, pulling me gently into his arms.
"I'm ok. I have a week off and I..." I trailed off, mumbling into his shoulder.
He didn't say anything, just letting me cling to him, feeling close to crumbling. My hands were locked around his waist, and I buried my face into his chest, not caring he was hot and sweaty. I felt like I had 4 years ago when I ran to him after I walked away from Roman. Only this time I was walking away from 4 people and it felt a million times worse because I knew there was no way I would win.
"What is going on Lila? I haven't seen you like this since..." he murmured, stopping when he realized what was going on, "You're making your choice."
"I have to. I don't want to though. How do I do this? I need help Jeff, I'm going to lose someone and I don't want to do this." I choked out, shaking against him.
"Ok calm down. Just keep breathing and we will go back to the hotel and talk about this." He reassured me, leaning back holding my head in his hands.
"Ok I'm calm." I breathed, closing my eyes and focusing on my breathing.
He breathed with me and suddenly the door opened. My eyes flew open and Matty was standing there, shock on his face and then worry as he saw my face. I detached myself from Jeff and Matty met me, an arm around my neck and waist. He was holding me tight but gently, knowing I was injured. Being with these two made life a little bit easier and I heard Jeff hit the showers.
"Are you ok?" he asked, leaning back to look me over.
"I have been asked that so much lately I'm not even sure anymore." I laughed, hands on his biceps, "Physically I'm alright, or I will be in a few days but mentally I think I might be on the edge. I am here for guidance from my two favorite tag team partners."
"Roman." He stated simply, and I nodded.
"I miss him Matty. Phil and I were great and then AJ came back and maybe I let the Authority get in my head but I know how hard it is to stay away from old friends. Roman was always around and seeing him just brought back everything I felt before and I want it back." I admitted, sitting on the couch, Matty perching next to me.
"I get it Lila but is it going to be the same as before? You have to take into consideration that you two are different people and maybe it won't work." He reasoned, and I shook my head.
"I haven't talked to him much but it's the same. I just need to...I don't know what I need." I wailed, my head in my hands.
"You need to get drunk." Jeff stated, walking out, jeans slung low on his hips and a towel around his shoulders.
"Oh God yes." I nodded, eyes wide.
"Matt you coming?" Jeff drawled, an eyebrow raised before slipping a shirt and sweater on.
"Nah not tonight. I got training tomorrow." He shook his head.
"Just you and me than Lila bean." He grinned, and I grinned back, shaking off the worry for now.
Jeff zipped up his bag and held out his hand. Lacing my fingers with his we walked out waving by to Matty. Striding along beside him I shoved everyone else on the backburner, enjoying my time with Jeff while I had it.
