There was a banging at my door the next morning and I rolled out of bed, staggering across the room. Leaning against the wall I yanked it open, blinking in the bright light of the hallway. Nikki was standing there with a coffee, looking way too chipper.
"Are you still in your wrestling gear?" she asked, looking down at the white pants I was wearing, "I brought you coffee. It looks like you need it."
"Nikki it's too early for this." I groaned, walking back to the bed, throwing myself face first into it.
"Lila where is your clock?" she motioned to the end table which had nothing on it.
"Somewhere over in that vicinity of the room." I motioned wildly towards the window and she spotted it on the floor.
"Lila it's almost 1 in the afternoon. You can't spend all day moping around in bed. It's not healthy." She admonished, sitting on the edge, pushing my hair from my face.
"I'm not moping. I was sleeping and I can if I want to." I pushed my face deeper into the pillow.
"No you can't because I'm here and you need to get up." She stated, rolling me over and ripping the blankets off me.
I curled into a ball, tucking my knees by my chest. I knew she was staring down at me. Sighing I gave up, knowing she wouldn't leave until I was up, dressed and ready to go. When she made it her mission to cheer someone up she didn't stop until she had done it. Sitting on the edge of the bed everything from yesterday flashed through my head.
"Lila you can't sit here and dwell on everything that happened. It will eat you alive from the inside out." Nikki said gently, sitting next to me, brushing my hair back.
"I have no idea how everything exploded so fast." I shook my head, sounding fragile even to my own ears.
"Well between AJ and Shield it was..." she began only to trail off, grabbing my chin and turning me towards her, "Lila what the hell happened to your mouth?"
I touched my lip and winced when a sharp pain came and disappeared. I had totally forgotten about slamming my face into the cupboard. Nikki looked furious and she was staring at me with narrowed eyes. I would rather tell her in public so she couldn't throw too much of a scene.
"I need a shower and food. I'll tell you when we go do whatever it is you have planned." I promised, getting up and grabbing clothes from my suitcase.
"You better because that looks really bad." She crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow.
I went to get ready before she blew a gasket. Not that she wasn't going to after she finds out what happened after RAW.
2 hours later
Fall was really in full swing as we walked from the car to the mall. The wind blew around us, whipping my hair all over the place. I was glad I had my black pea coat and scarf wrapped snugly around me. Nikki had my arm and was tugging me into the mall, her cure all treatment for anyone who was upset. We went the food court as my stomach grumbled, and ordered a breakfast burrito. Shedding my coat I left my beanie on, knowing my hair would be a mess. Finally Nikki turned to me, not able to control herself.
"So what the hell happened to you? I wasn't from your match because you didn't have that when you came into the locker room. What happened last night?" she questioned, pointing at me with her drink.
"Phil and me got into a huge argument." I sighed, unwrapping my burrito.
"Oh my God did he..." she was about to ask, but I shook my head quickly.
