Chapter 38 Betrayal

    I frowned as he walked away, my cheek tingling from where his fingertips were. Shaking it off I made it to the doctors while he cleaned me up, announcing I didn't need stiches to my relief. I raced out of there, heading to the Diva's locker room. Everyone burst into cheers when I walked in and my faced flushed red.

"Woman's Champion!" Daniel roared, picking me up and spinning me around.

I raised my title and he put me down. Nikki was almost in tears as she hugged me tightly. Even Brie and Alicia congratulated me. Daniel went to grab Punk and we were standing around. Suddenly Stephanie was on the TV, looking not too happy under her smile.

"Ladies and Gentleman of the WWE universe we hope you enjoyed the last fight. Let's hear it for your Woman's Champion Lila." She called out, almost choking on my name.

The crowd erupted again and I could see her trying to hide her disappointment. She waited as the crowd calmed and she faced them, back to the stage.

"We have another announcement tonight for you. Another set of Champions if you will." Steph went on.

I rolled my eyes and walked away. I had packed a dress just in case I won and I wanted to change into it. Going into the back I stripped down. Pulling it out I smiled. It was a royal blue, black laced covered dress that came down to mid-thigh. I pulled out the black strappy pumps and quickly changed, feeling victorious. Fixing my hair I walked back out, hearing Stephanie still talking. Everyone's faces was pale and shaken and I knew I missed something huge.

"So now we'll ask him to come out. Can we get a round of applause for a returning Champ, Batista!" Steph shouted, her voice booming even over the TV.

My eyes went wide and I put a hand on the locker as I watched the man they called the animal walk onto the stage, dressed in his wrestling shorts. He was the one who Roman had left me to. Nikki glanced back at me, rushing to my side when she saw how white I was.

"Nikki what the hell is going on with this company?" I whispered, eyes glued to the TV.

"I don't think it's over guys." Alicia murmured, coming to stand next to me.

"We've been hiding this secret for a while now and we're excited to share it now with all of you." Steph glowed, gazing up at Batista, "Evolution is back."

Those three little words rocked the whole arena and I could feel Nikki instantly tense beside me. Alicia wasn't any better. I couldn't tear my gaze away from the screen as Stephanie and Batista grinned like idiots at each other. Suddenly Hunter's music played and he walked out, dressed in his wrestling gear as well. He made it to the ring, shaking hands with Batista. I had a horrible feeling in my gut as Hunter raised a mic.

"Now I know you're all wondering how can we have Evolution when there's only two?" he called out, "Who is going to replace the great Ric Flair you ask?" he stopped, listening to the crowd doing Ric's signature 'Woo' "We have an amazing young man who was willing to join us in showing you, the WWE universe what it's like to be a part of something great. So would the third and final member to Evolution please come out and join us."

The locker room was silent as we waited and the stadium was eerily silent. I walked away from Nikki and Alicia, dropping my title on the couch as I stepped closer to the screen. Suddenly theme music started and my chest caved.

I hear voices in my head, they council me, they understand, they talk to me...

I heard Nikki and Alicia gasp and I bent over, the shock literally talking my breath away. My hand was pressed against my chest and I crouched down, resting on my heels. I breathed deep as I stood up, eyes burning as I gazed up at the screen. Randy had a smile on his face as he shook hands with Hunter and Batista, dressed to wrestle as well. I thought about his apology in catering and I knew this is what he was doing. He knew this was going to break me. Steph raised the mic and my hands trembled, watching Randy's face.
