Lexi's POV:

The cluster of birds outside basically felt like they were chirping right next to me. It was 7:30 am in the morning and I didn't need to open my eyes to know that. My alarm kept ringing and ringing reminding me that I had priorities and a long day of work in front of me. All I really wanted to do was sleep in but I knew that if I slept in I would get home late. And all I want to do when I get home was kick back, relax and throw myself a hot shower.

I shuffled in bed, trying to turn to the side of the room that was away from the bright, blazing sun. We really needed to change the position of this room or at least all the furniture because I always seemed to be on the side where the sun streamed on me every morning.

Opening one eye I almost got a fright when I saw Zayn in the bed next to me. He was shirtless, laying on his back with his hair messy and eyes closed. I was in such a fright that I jumped at the sight of him and kicked his side with my foot.

"fuck Lexi, what the hell!' He groaned as his hand touched his injured side. His eyes flickered up to look at me where he they seemed to hold my gaze for a minute too long. "Am I really a horrible sight?" He smirked, pushing himself on to the back of his forearms. His other hand raked through his hair, messing it up even more.

I ignored him ripping the covers off me and letting my feet slip into my flip flops. "didn't expect to see you." I said I wasn't going to apologise for kicking him, of course I felt bad but I wasn't ruining my pride.

Whilst I pulled my hair into a sloppy ponytail I could already feel Zayn's eyes boring holes into my back. "Can't a guy sleep in for once in his life?" he asked, but this time his voice was much closer than before.

I shot up from my spot on the bed and turned around to see that Zayn was already sitting up and looked more wide awake. I grabbed a pillow and whacked him "Stay on your side of the bed."

"Not the stupid pillow-boundary." He said throwing the pillow that blocked the two of us.

"Hey!" I said grabbing the pillow.

"You never used to mind when I did that before."

"I also used you find you attractive before."

"you still do...don't lie."

I ignored him making my way to the bathroom. But I could feel a smile appear on my face.

Zayn was in the shower and I was making pancakes downstairs. This would be our usual mornings followed by a sweet make-out session and then a good relaxing hour. Except this time was different, because this time was not like any other times. Me and Zayn were on two completely different sides and it was like an on-going battle that would just never end.

I swiftly flipped the pancake over. When would I get it through my freaking head that me and Zayn would never be the same —ever again. I keep telling myself that there is no use saving our marriage when really I wasn't willing to believe it. Its about time I start facing facts and stop getting my hopes high for nothing.

I heard my phone buzz. Balancing the phone on my shoulder whilst trying to turn this pancake before it burnt was a hard job but I managed to do it "yeah." I spoke into the phone. My secretary was on the other end.

"Okay firstly, don't freak out cause its not good for the baby or anything—"

"What is it Lina?" I said cutting to the chaste. Of course I'm gonna start freaking out, it always happens whenever a conversation starts out like this.
