Lexi's POV
"Hows that crib coming along?" I asked as I walked into the room with a tray of lemonade for the boys. This was the room that was meant to be for our son. Zayn was on the ground painting the walls a light blue colour whilst his cousin Clark was on the ladder painting the top edges of the wall.
"Its looking pretty good." Clark said climbing down the stairs and wiping the sweat off his forehead.
"Thats great!" I said, everything was finally coming along, the furniture was coming in tomorrow which gave us enough time to air out this room from the toxic paint smell "Hows your mum?" I asked engaging in a short convo with Clark, Clark was a good guy who unfortunately dropped out of school before he could graduate, now Zayn was determined to make sure he made a living and got back on his feet.
I didn't even realise that Zayn was standing behind me until he wrapped his hands around me. Well as far they could get, my belly was so huge that my belly button turned from an inie to an outie overnight. I turned around to place my lips on his, closing my eyes and finally enjoying the fact that I could enjoy my time with him.
After almost leaving him I realised that I needed to be with him —forever. And after that life had been great. We were getting ready for the arrival of our baby and we couldn't be more pleased. The baby was healthy and wouldn't stop kicking which was always a good sign.
"Hey don't get paint on this top its kinda pricey." I said wrapping my hands around him
Zayn pressed his forehead to mine taking a deep breath "I'm so happy you never took that flight." He said and I smiled. I really was happy that Tricia invaded my house that day, otherwise I would never have the courage to do what I just did that time. I would have regretted leaving Zayn for the rest of my life.
There was a knock on the door downstairs breaking our moment. "I should get that, its probably Clarks mother." I stepped away making a move to the door only for Zayn to shout out "be careful". He was so protective wherever I went, I guess it was normal for him to do that but after basically pregnant proofing every spot in the house it started to get a tad annoying.
I made my way downstairs and opened the door expecting to see Clarks mum but instead was greeted with Tricia. Surprised I really wanted to slam the door on her face, especially since we haven't talked since three months ago. Why was she here now?
"I bought food, some quiche and a mince pie." she said walking in without my permission. She walked straight into the kitchen "Heat these up before eating and hon....you should probably get on to those dishes." she said titling her head in the direction of the dishes piled up by the sink.
"Why are you here?" I asked standing in the middle of the kitchen.
She opened her mouth to speak then asked "Wheres Zayn?"
"upstairs." she quickly went to the kitchen door, closing it. "I'm here to offer you a deal." she said and I watched her closely, she had this glimmer in her eyes and I knew this was trouble.
"Thats not going to happen." I said opening the fridge "I am done with your stupid deals."
"Well then maybe I could visit your sister, she's living around swan valley, it won't take me long to get there." That caught my attention, she knew where my sister was. Why would she know? Actually better question, how would she know?
"Keep my sister out of this." I growled back. I would not let Tricia get her filthy hands on my sister, she was far away trying to enjoy a decent life without arranged marriages and deals. If Tricia brought her back home and made her marry Mark I don't know what I'd do.
