Mystic Falls

Present Day

Aliona's P.O.V

The glint in his eyes told me straight away that his dangerous thoughts were a mere second away from becoming actions. How long had it been? He hadn't been in contact during this century at all and I was pleasantly going on the assumption that he'd simply forgotten about me.

But Klaus never forgets.

"It's been a long time Aliona." He spoke whilst I stood up, eyeing the surroundings to try and make a quick get away.

"I suppose it has." I shrugged, trying to keep my ragged breathing under control and sound uninterested, surely he couldn't be here to kill me. He began to walk forwards and became slightly too close to me.

"No need to look so frightened love, you must know by now that I never come to kill you." He whispered sinisterly as he circled around me, like a predator taunting their prey.

"Well there's nobody else here that I care about enough to be an eligible candidate, so I suggest you leave." My own confidence taking me back slightly, his eyes narrowed slightly for a second before he regained his composure.

"How's Elijah?" He questioned, ignoring my previous statement and causing me to freeze.

"Fine." I swallowed thickly as Klaus raised an eyebrow. "Still as nobel and loyal to you as ever."

"Good to hear." Klaus smirked, I rolled my eyes at his arrogance and ignorance. "It's a nice town," Klaus gestured to our surroundings. "I remember when you used to talk of it fondly, all the memories that you shared here with your brothers. Seems they aren't the same anymore."

"Please stop talking." I sighed and tried to back away, feeling the barrier of the bridge behind me and signalling that I'm trapped.

"Or what?" He smirked. "What is the 'oh so powerful' Aliona Salvatore going to do?" His eyes narrowed as he mocked me, I bit the inside of my cheek to stop myself lashing out. He was easily much stronger anyway.

"I'll kill the doppelgänger." The words were out before I could stop them, barely a whisper but I knew he heard. I had no idea if it would work or not, I just remember how angry he was when Katherine became a vampire.
The anger boiling under the surface was given away by his narrowed eyes.

"Do so and I won't care about our agreement." He spoke stepping dangerously close. "Do so and your brothers will pay the ultimate price." I gulped at his threatening words.

"Why not just kill me?" I asked, curiosity getting the better of me. The question made him pause for a moment, I wasted no time in moving past him. However I wasn't fast enough as he grabbed my arm before I could fully move away.

"Because there's no fun in that love." He whispered, my heart beating erratically as I stood frozen to the spot. The discomfort of his touch sending icy streaks through my veins, a violent shudder being the end result. "I want you to tell your friends to make the most of these days, because they're numbered if they try to stop me." He spoke with a sinister smirk.

I stood with a frown, turning to face him. I swallowed down the fear that was threatening to choke me from the inside out and stared at him straight in the eyes.
