Aliona's P.O.V

"W-would you like to come in?" I asked, swallowing the lump in my throat. Elena looked slightly scared as she took a step back. "Elena if I wanted to kill you I'd have done it years ago." I said as she nodded, trying to be brave and confident but failing.

Eventually she walked into Matt's house and sat at the table, placing her hands in her lap and looking down.

"So you know who I am?" I prompted her as she looked up to see me leaning on the counter, she nodded slowly.

"You're Aliona Salvatore." She whispered as I nodded.

"Yeah, they're my brothers. I love them a lot, even Damon." I chuckled slightly as I saw a hint of a smile play on her lips.

"I wondered why you were always talking to Stefan." She spoke shaking her head as things started to make sense for her. "How long ago was it that... you know... you were turned?" Elena questioned, unsure of how to phrase it.

"1866. Two years after I thought my brothers had died, Damon came back to find me. He turned me and left me, this year is the first time I've seen him in over a century." I said grimly as she nodded.

"What about Stefan? When was the last time you saw him?" She questioned as I thought for a moment about how to explain.

"Well over the years I had...friends who knew him well. I'd heard a lot about him, what he'd been doing around the country. However Damon told him that I was dead, so he's gone all of this time thinking that I died back in 1866." I spoke sadly as Elena gasped.

"A-and you don't hate Damon?" She questioned, astounded.

"No I don't." I sighed. "He's not my favourite person in the world and I strongly dislike him, but I could never hate him. He's my brother." I shrugged as Elena stood up. She walked around the kitchen table and wrapped her arms around me, hugging me tightly.

Being so close to her neck made my gums tingle as I held back my urges. Control it Ali, I chanted in my head as she pulled away. I managed to plaster a smile on my face as she sighed.

"Everything's going to change now, isn't it?" Elena asked as I looked at her sympathetically.

"Not if you stick with your friends, I promise to keep my brothers out of as much trouble as I can." I reasoned as she nodded. "Stefan and I are already trying to convince Damon to leave town before he gets too... involved."

"H-have you ever k-killed anyone in this town?" She questioned although she stuttered, she still managed to look me in the eyes and ask.

"Yes." I muttered and heard her breathing hitch, I looked down ashamed. "I lost control because Damon was messing with my head, I hate myself for it though." I explained, Elena nodded.

"Well it's getting late, we have school tomorrow so I better get home before Jenna freaks." She said as I smiled at her.

"Sure I'll see you guys tomorrow." I spoke and opened the door for Elena, after she had left I locked it and went upstairs.

It was still such an alien feeling that Elena knew. I sort of knew that it would get out eventually, just not this soon.

That night I dreamt of him again, more vividly. As if I was actually with him in person. He was telling me how sorry he was for everything, that's how I knew it was a dream.

He'd never apologies for what he's done in real life.

In the morning, I didn't want to go to school. Not while Vicki was still out there, what if she'd killed half the town in the night?
